I think a lot of people are wrong about AA dehubbing PHX. Compared to LAX, it's been a more profitable operation, is a bit larger, and AA also has a larger market share there. AA did well with a lot of Eastern European routes from PHL. PHL-PRG/BUD were pretty successful for AA, and they also had plans of launching ORD-BUD, too. I wonder if some of those DL cuts are due to additional CRJ-200 retirements. A lot of the ATL/DTW cuts seem like CRJ-200 drops.

And there's definitely going to be a lot people traveling to Florida this summer. I did a dummy booking for 5/31 on UA's IAD-Florida routes and all of them appeared to be at least 70% full. MCO looked to be about 90% and RSW was probably about 95%.

Yesterday afternoon I saw a Pakistan International 772 landing at IAD, inbound from YYZ. The routing of it was ISB-YYZ-IAD-ISB. I wonder what that was all about. I'm guessing some sort of cargo flight?

They'd keep one of their western hubs (probably PHX). And I doubt they'd totally de-hub ORD too. That's a 500+ daily operation right before COVID-19. LAX and NYC could definitely see some deep cuts, though.

AA is flying 738s to CLT from IAD which is abnormal
MS sent a 789 to RMF today
FedEx is flying DC-10s from places like RDU, which is abnormal

Well if this trade does (somehow) happen, I'd imagine some carriers would pick up those 717s. Wouldn't blow me away if some of DL's Skyteam buddies end up picking some of them up

So 2 MD90 flights today so far. ATL-IAH/BUF. Hopefully many more for many more days weeks months. DL2495 SAT-ATL now appears to be the final DL MD-90 flight, arriving in ATL at 9:35 PM EDT tomorrow, April 1st.

Flight will be operated by N962DN, which happens to be the first MD-90 I ever flew on back in 2014.

Have flown on 3 MD-90 flights that I remember. First two in 2014 on DCA-MSP (N962DN) and MSP-DCA (N912DN). Then on final one in 2015 also on MSP-DCA (N913DN). Sat in the back for all 3 of those flights and loved it!

DL370 IAH-ATL may be the final DL MD-90 flight. Departs IAH 5:50 PM CDT on April 1st and arrives in ATL at 8:45 PM EDT. DL1159 from BUF will be the second-to-last MD-90 arrival at 7:09 EDT. My suspicion is that the PHX-TPA/PIT/CMH cuts are Coronavirus and lack of a/c related. I suspect they'll be back in October like they're slated to right now and will be back on their normal schedule after that. We'll see in October though...
