I do think if they do this though, it'll be the first time at any airline that a member of the DC-9 family have had IFEs installed. I don't think anyone in the past ever installed PTVs on DC-9/MD-80/717/MD-90s, so this would be a first. Really goes to show just how long the DC-9 family was built to ...Jump to post
Don't think this has been mentioned here yet but UA is adding A319s to IAD-CMH beginning in October. It appears to be year-round too. CMH definitely seems like a solid mainline add for UA from IAD. UA has made a lot of mainline additions from IAD to midwestern cities recently, and to other big marke...Jump to post
The 717s aren't gonna go anywhere for a while. Most of them aren't that old and there's plenty of A319/738/A320s that are older than the 717s in the fleet, and they all just got a big overhaul. The 717s will complement the A220s for a while, IMO. If DL were to be putting IFEs on their MD-88/MD-90s, ...Jump to post

CVG is a very good add IMO, especially since DL cut that route last year and it's now unserved.Jump to post
Return to CLT seems possible due to AA/BA.Jump to post
Note that it looks like it'll only run for less than 3 weeks for the holiday season: December 18 to January 6. I saw that. Must be experimental or very limited service. Probably testing the waters. Assuming it goes well, I bet we see more frequencies between LAX and MEM. Honestly I was surprised AA...Jump to post
AA has (finally) launched a seasonal LAX-MEM beginning 12/18 with an A319. The A319 seems the perfect aircraft for this route IMO, and I'm thinking this one should work out to them. In the wake of the DL hub cuts, AA has really solidified themselves as MEM's #1 airline. At this point, they have way...Jump to post

LAX-MEM on AA was overdue IMO. Hopefully that route ends up working out for them.Jump to post
Should UA start some nonhub - tourist island flights? I highly doubt it. UA already has an aircraft shortage at the moment due to the MAX situation, so they aren't exactly in a position where the they add a bunch of flights. Plus, I'd say if anyone would do those types of flights, it'd probably be ...Jump to post
The concourse A expansion at KRIC is officially underway, and with good progress. Hopefully some new airlines/routes soon... https://mobile.twitter.com/Flack4RIC/status/1159187320827981825 AC to YYZ seems certainly possible at some point. NK expansion + F9 entering the market seems rather likely too.Jump to post
I don't see AC coming to SBN anytime soon. They already serve 2 cities that are within 3 hours of SBN (ORD, IND), plus I doubt there would be anywhere near enough of a pull to support the route. I could name a dozen routes which AC would likely launch before SBN in no particular order: PWM ORF GRR S...Jump to post
AA flew to VIE for a brief time a few years back IIRC.Jump to post
If the rumors about 3 PHL routes are accurate, then I'd say for sure one will be PHL-MXP. I'll say another one will be PHL-BRU. As for the 3rd route... I really don't know. Could be CMN. Could be TLV. If it's another European route, it could be anything. Places like BLQ weren't expected at all in AA...Jump to post
AA is reportedly making a "huge announcement" soon, part of which is likely to concern international routes. According to the rumors PHL-BLQ/TXL are gone and BUD is going up to an A332 and MAN will be a 787, thus freeing up some aircraft. Could we see some new TATL routes coming to PHL soo...Jump to post
Probably will involve a bunch of new seasonal European routes from PHL and maybe somewhere else. As for Japan, maybe they could be launching PHX-NRT? Or maybe dropping ORD-NRT. I remember something about AA considering LAX-BSB in conjunction with QF. Maybe that'll be announced in this one.Jump to post

nope, MCO is served from FRA; and so is TPA.
I feel like one of them will include PHL since AA just cut PHL-MUC. I was thinking the same thing. Maybe the 747 FRA route is doing well enough to justify a route to MUC. That's also very possible. IAH seems like another likely one. Should be interesting to see what they pick. PHL and IAH are my pi...Jump to post

JFK-BOG seems like a rather logical add for DL, and I'm pretty surprised they hadn't already added it. Where did they get the slot from?Jump to post
A little off topic, but similar, AA's DC-10s had a projector showing the view from the front of the plane in the cockpit. So pax on AA 191 would've been able to watch their plane plunge into the ground just after takeoff. That's horrifying to think about. That's often mentioned, but it's doubtful t...Jump to post

If MH 777s had PTVs, then I'm guessing that the passengers on MH 370/MH 17 had a bunch of options. I'm assuming AF's A330s had PTVs, or at the very minimum, were playing movies, so passengers on AF 447 probably would've had something, too. I know the NW/DL A330s had PTVs, so passengers on NW 253 wou...Jump to post
I think DL will eventually add CVG-MSY/PIT/BNA/JAX/SAN/ORF back. One they get their hands on some more smaller mainline jets, some more CRJ-700/900s should open up and be able to operate these routes. CVG-CLE would be an interesting one, but I'm not sure that one will happen, but if it did, it would...Jump to post
At the same time, I have concerns about DL wanting to add more routes from MEM. They've shrunk their MEM operation down to ~20 flights to 5 cities, and have even cut flights to hubs/focus cities such as SLC, CVG, BOS, JFK, and SEA. In that sense, I sort of feel like SLC-MEM would come before BOS-MEM...Jump to post
I still can't understand B6s lackof MEM/BOS on one of their embraers, that is the lowest hanging fruit out there, maybe with their A220s and possible need for TATL feed which brings me to this: https://www.bizjournals.com/memphis/news/2019/06/28/memphis-welcomes-record-number-of-visitors.html DL br...Jump to post
