Re: Delta Air Lines Network - 2024

I find it amazing that DL chooses to fly to MAF and MFE which are small niche markets and not to DFW with a population of 6 million. I would think Delta could find other creative ways to burn money. WN has flown AUS-MAF since the 70s so there's clearly some demand on that route. MFE is a bit more o...

MSN or RSW feel like the top two candidate all things considered. Decent brand recognition in both markets and already having a handful of p2p routes out of both airports. I don't think it'll be BA taking over the LHR flight. Probably won't be a European route. Aer Lingus to DUB is a possibility but far from the most likely route. Same goes for Copa.

It'll almost certainly be WestJet.

Re: Washington, DC (BWI / DCA / IAD) Aviation - 2024

IAD-ANC seems like a smart add for UA, especially with the 7M8 being able to make that trip. Certainly seems possible that this was partially a move to keep AS off that route considering the fact that when AS added IAD-SAN, UA immediately added 777s and more frequencies on said route.

LAS will probably remain a very large spoke much like MCO but also have several p2p routes. However, I also assume a lot of the p2p adds in the near future will largely be cent...

Hi, Does anybody know how IAD-AMM is doing? Re: Lufthansa Group Orders 40 A220s & 40 737 MAX + 120 options

Boeing has had a solid bounce back (especially in Europe) after losing out on the AF/KL deal. Have gotten firm orders from both IAG and Lufthansa group since then. My guess is a good chunk of the 737s will go Discover and Edelweiss, and while I wouldn't be shocked if either Austrian or Brussels ends...

I *am* a bit surprised that IAD hasn't grown more. UA talked a lot about shifting connecting flows there from EWR, but it hasn't really materialized. Not sure what happened to that plan. IAD's biggest setback at this point is their facilities, at least for UA. Their ~5pm bank is pretty much totally...

Re: Delta develops AUS focus city with expansion

BNA has a decent shot of sticking but MAF/MFE? I'd give them a 50% chance of performing decently if they were 1-2x daily on an EMB-120 or something. But a CRJ-900? Slim chance. They're also going to be going up against WN on AUS-MAF, a route they've been flying since the 70s. Not saying building AUS...

A focus city at SLC would make absolutely zero sense for UA. A 737 wasn't going to do well on RDU-MEM regardless of the timing/frequency. An E-175 is a much better fit for the route and if anyone else were to add RDU-MEM in the future, it would probably be AA if they decide to add some more p2p routes out of RDU.
