Re: Airline History @ KISP

Due to Frontier attempting to operate flights from ISP to many places (i.e. Minneapolis, Detroit, New Orleans) and failing is a sign that there isn't a large market for those flights. American offers ISP-PHL to connect passengers anywhere, and that flight is usually full, but that doesn't mean Delt...

American Airlines plane approaches wrong airport

AA flight 862 from Philly to Fort Myers accidentally approached KFMY, instead of KRSW. The pilots got the plane down to about 800 feet before realizing the mistake. If WN decides to add eastern destinations from LAS, I could maybe see ISP and PVD. WN had a PVD LAS a few years back and they discontinued it. I think an ISP-DEN route would do exceptional. CLT - AA - 2/3x daily
ORD -AA - 2/3x daily

ATL - DL - 3/4x daily

There is new management at ISP, and I know the airport manager personally. She is trying very hard to get a real airline (AA, UA or DL) to come back or expand at ISP. SAN-HNL

Still a possibility:
SMF-HNL
OAK-OGG

LAS-OGG
LAS-HNL
LAX-OGG
SAN-OGG
BUR-HNL

Likely because of the somewhat short runway. It’s more than big enough to support WN’s 737’s (or else they would not be here), but they don’t wanna risk filling up a 737 with a full load of fuel, along with the pax and cargo, and trying to get it off a 7,000 foot runway especially if the weather is ...
