Re: Most iconic livery?

Qantas has to be up there...instantly recognisable even outside the aviation world.

SQ I agree...and might add Thai too.

Re: American to start 787 service from PHL

Philadelphia – Manchester effective November 3, 2019; 787-8 replaces A330-200 Ugh, AA introduced the 787 on CHI-MAN before cutting it, hope PHL is not going the same way. PHL-MAN is essentially subsidized by the pharma industry so it is unlikely to disappear. Is that still true? Didn’t a large part...

Re: MAN news - 2018

There is space for lounges in the main building (above the airside departure lounge/shopping area) and at least one of the piers is planned to have an extra floor with lounges (I suspect no more than 2/3) on the top floor. Thanks all - the conjecture is interesting. I guess my point, however, was t...

Re: MAN news - 2018

A question on the terminal transformation for those in the know.

The (greatly appreciated!) updates on the expanded T2 are pretty detailled.

Is there any sign yet of any carrier lounges? I don’t mean Escape etc....rather an LH or SkyTeam or other.

Thanks...

As mentioned above - superb F and great J product.

However - no connection from Australia or NZ.

Their main target market (surely!) required a long wait or overnight. Madness, given the competition.

Re: Future Toronto Pearson YYZ Routes

I'm surprised there is no apparent move to AC mainline between YYZ-MAN. There is currently a seasonal Rouge service, which would presumably be redeployed, and there is competition from TS all year. The main question is whether the market is there in the winter months, and if not whether AC would co...

Hi Dobbo - what evidence? Can you share?

MAN - LAX is loaded and for sale from end of June next year.

Re: Cathay Pacific future strategy

in Australia Canberra is an excellent option to add to your route network So I’m curious...what’s the data or thinking behind this? Canberra’s a city of about 400,000. With almost no hinterland or broader catchment. SQ already serves daily....quick calculations based on daily 772 makes just under 1...

Re: MAN news 57: Seattle calling

almost unnoticed is that start of daily operations by Cathay Pacific to Hong Kong. I wonder what they will do should they continue to attract demand (and yield presumably) with the additional frequencies. Back to 777s or dare we hope for extra frequencies? I’ve been told that MAN may be in line for...

Re: QF Ends MEL-DXB-LHR in Favor of MEL-PER-LHR, EK Upgrades to A380

You'd have to assume that the current prices are set to take advantage of the huge PR Qantas have generated on this new service. Arguably a premium could be charged from Perth, but for an ex Melbourne passenger I see no siginicant benefit in via PER vs DXB. It's slightly faster but hardly more conve...

Re: KEF-HKG: Unserved route of the week

Wow wow everyone - let's take a deep breath here. Look at the stats provided. PEAK monthly SEARCHES on a meta site is 24,000 Even if that converted at 1% - ie 1 in 100 searchers booked (very high for Skyscanner) - that means 240 passengers each way per month. Do we envisage a one-monthly CX A350? Th...

Re: MAN News 57. No Stopping Chinese Links..

MAN is my local and I travel to Indonesia yearly on business, normally via Singapore. I'd love to take the direct flight SQ are offering, but Christ almighty it's almost double the price in J than it is compared with EK (My usual choice), EY or QR. What gives with such a hike? SQ J is a closer comp...
