Airport is closed. No casualties reported as of yet. Apparently both aircraft are operated by Sudanese Airforce.Jump to post

GA was maybe the last regular 744 in Africa ...
Take care with IATA codes, GA is Garuda Indonesia .
As of 2017 the majority of the LH group fleet is owned by the group. For example, the 32 B747 and 14 A380 are owned by LH. @dcajet, absolutely amazing the report you´re doing from EZE. From the moment I read the first post, I followed up all the details as if the engine was for my car ! Mil gracias ! Thanks for sharing   And the funny thing is that I am in San Francisco, CA, not Buenos Aires! Goes t...Jump to post
D-AALJ is on its way from FRA to VCP as LH8250 right now. Seems they'll keep the normal routing. It appears the flight went straight on to EZE. They may have done a re-dispatch once in flight, but it is showing up as "diverted to EZE". It appears they are skipping MVD today and going from...Jump to post

Speaking of D-ABYP and Ezeiza i'll post the following video which shows exactly that: D-ABYP @Ezeiza! I know it's not directly related to this threads topic but i think it's worth watching anyways:
Any news on what exactly happened? 3 days and counting... As of 5PM ART this evening, D-ABYP is being worked on @ AR's engineering base, Hangar # 3. Picture on this link. https://desdeelpatioblog.com/2018/08/17/lufthansa-con-problemas-en-uno-de-sus-aviones/ Thanks a lot for the info, very much appr...Jump to post
Here is a link to a drone video I made from the United 747s stored at Tupelo. Yes yes I had full permission from everyone and went through an intense process to get access with the drone. Im not the best with drone video, but thought the angles of the greatest plane ever made was worth sharing! htt...Jump to post

Next A346 to receive the new livery seems to be D-AIHH in October.
Do you know when the first A380 is due?
... Is it any good or does it add another horrible design into the era of bad liveries we are currently experiencing ? Could you please explain what "era of bad liveries" you are referring to? What is an "era of bad liveries"? Who decides that we are currently experiencing an &q...Jump to post

Thank you!! That's what I thought, a really impressive African network, with intra-African segments. I'm sure they had traffic rights on most of them, given France's excellent influence in its former colonies. What really surprises me, though, is Dakar-New York.... was this prior to RK (Air Afrique...Jump to post
How long do you all think the 747 will be around? secondly, are we talking passenger only? I see no cargo airlines in this trend. Cargolux operates a few 747's as does Emirates Sky Cargo, Etihad Crystal Cargo, Lufthansa Cargo, China Airlines Cargo, etc,, third, when did Asiana stop flying the 747 t...Jump to post
All right. That's the first time I've heard of seperate seats for regular and premium economy, usually they're in the same seats. In the picture below you can see both types of LH seats, economy and premium economy. They are very different in dimensions and comfort. https://www.travelbook.de/data/u...Jump to post

Iberia seems to be playing cheap with their high density A350-900, hopefully they'll still get A350-1000s or even (dare I say) A380s. I don't see how SAA is going to acquire anything anytime soon. Armchair CEO me says there's a good chance KE and AF get some. KE because they'll replace their 77Ws a...Jump to post

Bonus question: which airport had this kind of stairs? If the documentary is editied chronologically, it must be a North American airport like Montreal, Toronto or New York. Where did the first Swissair B747s fly to? As far as i know in 1972 Swissair flew the 747 only to JFK. Either non-stop from Z...Jump to post
why does LH not retrieve some 340-600's from retirement? These could be helping out free-ing up 744s for the Berlin Airlift 2.0 ;) Can imagine that the 340-600 would not be capable of serving TXL due to the sheer length of the frame. LH has already been serving TXL with A340-600 from MUC in october...Jump to post
