Is it confirmed that they are exiting SkyTeam? Yess May 21. No. It sounds like AZ is exiting the Transatlantic JV with DL/AF/KL which is not equivalent to “exiting SkyTeam”. IAE was founded as a joint venture between 5 companies (thus the V- nomenclature for the engines) - RR, Pratt, MTU, Japan Aero Engine, and Fiat Avio. Pratt bought RR's share in 2011-2012 making it the largest stakeholder- and better positioning the PW1000G-powered A320NEO as successor to V2500.

They will also have the only non-stop SE Asia-NYC flight (at least until SQ starts their EWR flights) and are particularly strong in NA compared to many SE Asian carriers, so PR can definately bring value to GA and VN. Among SkyTeam members, MU, CZ, MF, and CI all offer non-stop SE Asia-NYC flights.
