In Europe TUI have 2 different safety cards for the 737-800 and the 737-Max8. The -800 has a classic style life jacket where you tie the straps in a bow. The Max has a clip-style life jacket fastening. So they can’t share a safety card. BA's A320 CEOs have a tie life jacket, and the NEOs have a cli...Jump to post
Other than the A35Ks, which (if any) of BA's fleet has had the new Club World seat installed? Have they released a post-Covid updated timetable? I remember hearing that the 788s and 789s would be among the last to get it. As MrHMSH says above, the 787-10 has it. Most of the LHR based G-VII* 777-200...Jump to post
To add to Speedbird96's post, there are current 5 747s left which haven’t had the full refurbishment (they still have the old Rockwell IFE), which are G-CIVD/J/K/L/N. These are all still at LHR and only one has flown in the past week (VJ). My suspicion is those 747s in BOH and TEV are temporarily st...Jump to post
Bear in mind DXB for them is probably mostly point to point, and demand fluctuates....EK are king on the DXB runs! BA and LH are using a variety of equipment to adjust capacity for the same reason.... That is incorrect. LH/AF/KL/BA/LX/TK also take a good chunk of transfer passengers. Either to Nort...Jump to post
I chose to pair my salad with a glass of Champagne. British Airways serves Champagne Castelnau Réserve in Club Europe - a fine Champagne, but not quite as good as the Laurent Perrier served aboard Air France. Thank you for the detailed and interesting report! Just for information, BA serve Laurent ...Jump to post
Looks great, sadly the old CW will be around a LONG time with the 744 fleet keeping the current seats as they will be around until 2023 or 24. Sadly BA didn't introduce new seats on the 787, they kept the old ones, really recycled from old planes leaving the fleet. Four years really isn’t a long ti...Jump to post
Alex Cruz has confirmed the A380 WILL be getting the new seat, so don’t get too excited about its demise just yet....Jump to post
I had been wondering which airline would be first to introduce USB-C charging BA's refurbished 777s based at Gatwick have USB-C charging. You can see it in the first picture here: http://mediacentre.britishairways.com/pressrelease/details/86/2018-247/9236 (For the record I’ve used it in person, not...Jump to post
G-CIVB is about to be fully refurbished so doubt it’s retiring anytime soon. The article has out of date information.Jump to post
For BA at least, meals are loaded to passenger load. Y and W are loaded exactly (i.e. 100 meals for 100 pax), J and F are slightly overcatered to give more of a chance of first choice of meal. The remaining J meals are then for the cabin crew to eat. In terms of your second question, it’s very diffi...Jump to post
While we're discussing landor, can we agree that this would be *the* best looking 787 in the air? http://orig11.deviantart.net/f989/f/2013/325/5/5/british_airways_livery_concept_by_superstardeluxe-d6v317e.jpg It looks lovely, but why does it have the Queen (as in the band) logo on the back?Jump to post
Slightly disconcertingly just as I was about to step aboard, the airbridge dropped. Whilst the drop was not massive, maybe two or three inches, it was unnerving. That will be the automatic levelling function - as the aircraft gets heavier, it gets lower so the air bridge automatically goes down do ...Jump to post
The 777 to Madrid is purely for cargo purposes - a 4-class -200 is usually used and has fewer seats than a shorthaul A321. The 767s with 259 seats are being replaced with 321NEOs with 220 seats - not a huge decrease in capacity though cargo capacity will obviously decrease. I’m sure BA knows what it...Jump to post

I would have really appreciated something like a small bottle of water like American Airlines hand out. On a long overnight flight, this would have been nice.
The first thing that worries me on this one is the fact that A321s will be fitted like this. Although the report says short haul, you would not expect an A321 nowadays to fly less than 2 hours. I’m not defending the new seats, but most BA A321 flying is well below two hours. Picking one at random, ...Jump to post
Of the 18 remaining unrefurbished 747s, three are retiring in the next year, and the remaining 15 are being refurbished starting this month, with new IFE being fitted from August (only 9 have been approved for new IFE so far). Unless the plan has changed, this was the case a few weeks ago. Long over...Jump to post
BA 744 departures today:
Some are seasonal, YVR is a 388 over Summer, one JNB is a 744 over northern Summer, AUS changes to 744 this Summer, SAN is usually a 77W over Summer, a few that spring to mind!
Give me shelf bins anyday, they’re far more crew-friendly than pivots bins. Imagine trying to close an aircraft full of pivot bins (777 is the worst), they get very heavy when full of luggage, and the poor aisle passengers generally get a face-full of my pelvis as they’re set further back from the a...Jump to post

Thanks, so old seats, old entertainment etc. in World Traveller! Shame... The 777s used to Dubai have the same seats as the 777-300/787/380 and the same inflight entertainment, with plug sockets and USB charging points. There may a rare occasion where a Rolls-Royce model is subbed, which do have th...Jump to post
