The CLT fanboys mistakenly equate the traffic at the airport (due to American's hub), as being an indicator to support international flights. They don't realize they punch well below their weight for O&D numbers and revenue for their population numbers.

I was very surprised to find out that they already have 6 daily, equaling DL. According to the RDU wiki, BOS has 4th most traffic from RDU.

It's a short train ride from Rome. Even adding in the Fiumicino-Termini leg, it's not that bad of a commute, as the frequencies of departures are great. There's not a lot of incentive for a US airline to add it.

According to a recent TBJ article, the top unserved markets with PDEW:
1) San Diego - 144
2) Portland - 86
3) San Jose - 82

San Juan and San Antonio each had over 80 PDEW per day, but were included in Frontier's RDU expansion.
