The panty twisting here is unreal. The airport is not rebranding as San Francisco/Oakland. It’s rebranding as San Francisco BAY/Oakland. The airport itself lies on the SF Bay and the runway extends into the SF Bay. I don’t understand the drama. People love something to whine about too much these days.

Yes in the 1980’s UA flew BUR-ORD with a 762
PSA also briefly flew the L-1011 BUR-SFO from 1974-1975.

I’m sure we will see some more new service and new entrants once complete as this will be the most beautiful secondary airport in So-Cal.

The current facility is cramped with very few concessions and amenities so this will be a huge draw to flyers aren’t the LA basin.

Yes, In the 1980’s UA ran a 2x daily BUR-ORD with 762 equipment.
