They're planning to restructure as opposed to liquidate. So to the extent they're able to fund that plan, I wouldn't write them off just yet though clearly if they are able to emerge they will be much more limited in size and scope.

Those are the unsecured creditors, which would not include the lessors. They're paying ~$200k per month in rent for each of the three leased planes.

It's public in the sense that they've filed the Chapter 11 petition in a federal bankruptcy court. I would imagine the press will eventually pick up on it.
To my knowledge, they did sports charters and packaged vacation charters, neither of which are viable in the current situation.

The rebranding also was a lackluster attempt to address the brand woes of an airline who had a knack as a consolidator of destroying every last bit of goodwill its takeover targets like Piedmont, PSA and Empire had built in their primary markets.

Multiple airports petitioned DOT to remove them from EAS routes, SHD and LWB to name two, as a result of unreliable service and other chronic operational issues. So not sure sticking to that strategy was an option.

I love this idea. Anyone who's done 95 to 64 on a summer weekend to OBX knows what a nightmare this trip has become. The timings at least from Manassas give pax a chance to avoid the worst of the traffic between Currituck and the beach if of course they run on schedule.

Yes and it's a miserable 5 1/2 hour train ride with a 30 min engine swap in DC vs. 1 hour blocked for the flight. Acela takes 2hr,10min from BWI to Newark Penn vs. a likely flight time of 1h 20min.

It wasn't all that long ago (15+ years maybe?) that DL didn't fly CHO-ATL at all, so good to see the upgauging. Moving the mainline flight to an 8am departure might help address the TSA logjam at 5:30am at least a little bit.

They had been marketing SHD-LWB-ORD without mentioning the stop in LWB, so perhaps it will work better as a nonstop once people figure out the existing direct flight is not nonstop.
