Austrian using the polar route like SWISS and Lufthansa on the Tokyo to Vienna route

Good afternoon, Is it possible or feasible for Austrian to use the polar route on its return to Vienna from Tokyo just like how SWISS is doing with flight LX161 or Lufthansa with LH717? If SWISS claimed it saves flight time and fuel, wouldn't it make sense for Austrian to do the same? I even message...

Potential profitable routes for OS in Asia and US West Coast

Good evening, in your opinion, what other routes in Asia and US West Coast could possibly be profitable in the near future for OS? Besides the current ones.

Strange noise coming from a Boeing 777-200 during flight?

Good evening, recently I was on United Airlines 961 from Frankfurt, Germany to Newark, New Jersey. The aircraft was a Boeing 777-200. During the flight, I would occasionally hear what it sounds like the engines increasing in power for a few minutes and then it goes back down to the normal sound a 77...

Re: Austrian Airlines long-haul fleet replacement?

Boeing 787-8 & 787-9 are also great options. It would be cool to see Austrian's long haul fleet be consisted of both Boeing and Airbus.

Austrian Airlines long-haul fleet replacement?

Source : http://atwonline.com/airframes/ceo-austrian-airlines-must-begin-replacing-long-haul-fleet-2019-20 What are your thoughts on this? Do you agree that the time has come for OS to start replacing some of their long haul fleet? The CEO states that the newer aircraft could include second hand Bo...

Austrian arrives at Terminal 7 in LAX but departs from TBIT?

Greetings everyone. I have a question regarding Austrian arriving at terminal 7 at LAX. So I typed the flight number OS 81 on google and it shows Austrian arriving at terminal 7 when it lands at LAX instead of TBIT. And when I type OS 82 on google, it shows Austrian departing from TBIT. Does anyone ...

Re: Which destination would Austrian probably add next?

Would love to see further OS expansion in the US. I flew them VIE-MIA last year and the service was great, hoping to trial their new LAX-VIE service this coming week as well. I think BOS and SFO are the next two logical ads for OS, probably more so SFO with the big Star Alliance hub. Since we are d...

Re: Which destination would Austrian probably add next?

Since we are discussing new US destinations for OS, do you guys think Austrian should expand more in the Caribbean as well? Not sure if the current fleet can cover all these destinations. They got Cuba so far. Should they add flights to Puerto Rico, Saint Maarten, Dominican Republic, Bahamas, Jamaic...

Re: Which destination would Austrian probably add next?

Selfishly, I'm totally rooting for SFO so that I can commute between my homes in peace, fully avoiding the mess that is FRA. Let's hope SFO is the next US destination for Austrian. I am wondering what the flight numbers would be for Vienna - San Francisco & San Francisco - Vienna. I keep thinki...

Re: Which destination would Austrian probably add next?

I have a hard time seing Austrian starting service to Orlando, Cancun or JNB. There's very probrably too little demand, and the little demand from austria to these destination can easily connect through other airlines. However, San-Fransisco wouldn't surprise me (they actually used to fly there), a...

Which destination would Austrian probably add next?

Since they planned on acquiring another 777-200ER? What do you guys think? San Francisco? Rio de Janeiro? Orlando? Mexico City? Cancun? Johannesburg? etc. Also, for those living near LAX, whenever you have a chance, can you take more pics of Austrian landing, taking off, and taxiing at LAX? I unfort...
