Re: Airbus A350 Production/Delivery Thread 2018

Nice to see Qatar deliveries finally caught up. With the exception of 2 or 3 -1000s. After looking at the production list, looks like -1000 activity is increasing too. Should be roughly 7 frames sitting around? 4 ULRs around (1 at the delivery center and the rest in flight testing?), with 3 more in...

Re: Nordic aviation - 2018

I believe CPH will benefit more from SAS flying to HKG instead of Cathay Pacific. But now comes the question: could CX start flying to OSL or KEF? Or even to HEL to partner with AY (see this article ), which I see unlikely though as AY is so strong on HEL-HKG route. Of course they could, but ARN wo...

What do you suggest that TAP should due to contribute? :stirthepot: Maybe propose to split their operations between LIS and Montijo like BA with LHR and LGW? That would be suicide for a smallish airline like them. Or happily accept more airport surcharges in LIS to pay for a new airport they don't ...

Re: Airbus and Boeing meet Qantas Project Sunrise challenge, RFP to be completed by end of 2019

What if B does the same trick of A and increase the range of the 779 making it LR? Pavement loading and gear capacity are likely to constrain more than a relatively small MTOW increase for the 777X. The A350 has more headroom in that respect. roger that! if the 35k lr will win (unlikely but who kno...

The interesting point will be if they can show a positive EBITDA at the end of the year, or at least a positive operational result. I really like them, I want longhaul LCCs to get their place in the market beside the established legacy airlines and wish for them to succeed, but every year they repo...

geographically is better to focus on west bound flights (like TP and SK and KL) while AY, SU, TK and others positioned in the easter side of EU prefer to get feed and fly to Asia.

Sas is going all the way towards being a LCC with premium service. They layed off thousands of workers. Transferred to India all the back office and accounting. Not that others have done otherwise. But yes costs have been slashed to compete.
