Re: What Airline Would You Like To Own And What Would You Do Different?

I would like to own KLM. First I would bring the Boeing 747-400 back in service. Aircraft types with 3-3-3 or 3-4-3 economy seating would have to leave the fleet. So that means no more Boeing 787's or 777's, unless they come with a cabin upgrade. So what do you propose the seating configuration be ...

Hmmm.. This is a hard one. The only one I can think of is ORH (Worcester, Massachusetts). In 2014, I went there just to rent a car. And when I was returning it, I happened to see people coming in for a B6 flight (to either MCO or FLL). I believe these were the only two commercial flights out of ORH...

I work near Levi Stadium just north of SJC airport. Like many Silicon Valley folks, I don't come into the office much. I think it’s safe to say that had the pilots understood what happened to their aircraft...engine separated, slats retracted....they could have indeed gotten the aircraft up to a speed where the wings would not have stalled, and they could have achieved a level and somewhat controlled flight. I don't think a 777 is considered a narrowbody. Even then, I don't think the 777-300 has the range to fly that long of a flight. I'm guessing you meant the 777-300ER.

Longest Narrowbody SFO-JFK/JFK-SFO (2,583 mi) UA 757-200 & B6 A321-200 I guess JFK to SFO is longer than LAX to EWR, isn't it. In that case, mine would also be a United 757-200 from JFK to SFO. Longest narrow body flight in miles was Newark to Rome in a 757 we operated as our 767 was broken. On...

I don't think AA191 would have made it with extra power. With the leading edge slats retracted on the left, and the right side extended, the asymmetry would almost be insurmountable. The problem with American 191 is the fact that with the slats retracted on the left wing, the stall speed on that wi...
