i have already alerted the PIR airport manager about some of the downgraded connectivity issues and he was quite responsive and plans to address some of these issues head on. Looks like the DOT got away with giving to DAC over OO, despite one of the criteria being that the local market preference be weighed substantially, by using a provision that was included in the Consolidated Appropriations Act of 2021. From a customer standpoint the only thing that would change is the operator. DAC also operates as a codeshare partner with UA similar to SkyWest, so instead of saying “operated by SkyWest” on the itinerary it will say “operated by DAC”.
