BR is increasing from (10 weekly 77w) to (7 weekly 789 + 5 weekly 77w). So in total still capacity increase.
Jump to postEVA b-17805 just had its B1 flight this morning. EVA is expecting to take this bird early Oct.
Jump to postEVA's 3rd 787-10, b-17803, is delivered to BR and arrived at TPE from CHS today!
Jump to postThey did for a period of time having double daily JFK. It lasted only about a month before moving the capacity to SFO. I think the second daily departure from TPE is too early at 8am, maybe a 10am departure would catch more transfer traffic from HKG, ICN etc.
Jump to postI'm wondering how many seats UA has to block to make LAX-PVG works... or simply just don't take any belly cargo
Jump to postalso there is a much larger Taiwanese community in Brisbane compared to Melbourne or Sydney. Hence a higher O&D.
Jump to postI think EVA don't have enough 789 to do this trip. They will be flying YVR and VIE and that already got their 789s busy. Unfortunately this cannot be flown with 78X given that EVA will have 20 of them coming in the next 3 years.. MUC should probably be next for EVA... according to some news source. ...
Jump to postThis is exciting I hope they will launch more long-haul destinations. They are one of my favourite carrier and I think they are underrated.

MXP will be a great destination for BR. I'm assuming this will go nonstop from TPE.
EVA was talking about starting BCN.. Don't know if this will come true too.
I hope that they would have 2 configs for the 787-10s.. one with PEs and one without so they could fly some of the 787-10 to US! (Though I know the chance might be slim..)
Jump to postEVA will take delivery of their 1st 789 on Oct. 2.
Jump to postGA! Maybe they'll be back on the CGK-TPE.. or DPS-TPE
Jump to postWe have to remember that SJC has curfew, so it makes red-eye back to TPE for BR impossible, or at undesirable timing (3-4am TPE time) They have to do a morning flight out of TPE and departure time at SJC noon-ish to arrive TPE before 6pm for the second bank of connections to BKK/MNL/SGN and HKG+ICN....
Jump to postI think SYD is definitely on their radar, 787 should be the right aircraft for them. We should see some more Europe destinations coming too, the management has been hinting on them..
Jump to postI think they would also expand frequency to south east asia destinations, maybe like Jakarta, KL etc, or upgauge Hanoi, Phonm Penh.
I would like to see them starting SJC with their 787 too..
inbound from TPE at 6pm is already late enough for majority of connections to south east asia. SIN(SUB)/BKK/SGN/HAN/PNH/MNL/HKG/RGN now have same day connecting flights in both directions.
Jump to posthttps://www.creativityisintheair.com/home The new promotion from EVA AIR in partnership with Mullen Lowe looks wonderful! I think over the years they have stepped up their games in the NA market. Now maybe ASK-wise they are the 3rd-4th(?) largest carrier across the pacific? It's amazing given TPE do...
Jump to postaccording to flyontario.com this route carries 12229 passengers in the month of April. so load factor is 12229/(358*60) ~ 57%.
Jump to posta330-200 are too young to be retired. They came in 10 years later than the a330-300, so AA is keeping them.
