DL would be interesting but DOJ would never let it go though, they would finally get JFK and BOS back. UA and AA would be a firm no, UA because infrastructure being nonexistent in JFK and plenty at EWR. AA, thats obvious. No,

LAX has no major airlines headquarters there. LAX is a mismatch of airlines from all over the world. They cant grow LAX much larger anyways. Why would and airline put a major headquarters there when they could put them in Atlanta or Dallas and get cheaper fees?

I highly doubt UAL will ever be able to top AAL let alone DAL.

As far a a merger there arent too many other US based airlines that seem to fit the suit for acquisition. The only presence United can really grow is there United Express regional division.

Cargo airlines are always 20 steps behind commercial, because, they dont need state of the art aircraft. Heck, the A300F is still in operation. Airbus has never really been known for its freaghters, I assume Boeing and MD-11's will dominate the market for the next decade, at least.
