This is possible because the JFK-POS flights are red-eyes departing at 2209, so plenty of time for connecting traffic. I expect that passengers will have to go through Immigration at JFK on the return flights (but not on outbound as they will be precleared).

I don't think I've ever really understood why neither DL nor UA go to BGI from their biggest hubs (ATL and ORD). There is another report that Cabinet has approved a write-off of $205m which BW owes to AATT, leaving the remaining $35m to be paid by BW. This in turn leaves you to wonder about the state of AATT's finances.

In case anyone was wondering about the state of BW's finances, it's been revealed by the Airports Authority of Trinidad and Tobago (AATT) that BW is indebted to them in the sum of approximately $35 million (US$5.1m), and has been given a 60-day ultimatum to clear the debt.

As far as I can make out the plan is to use executive jets operated by Bermuda Direct Air Service or ScottsCraft to carry passengers from BDA to Caribbean. I have to say that if I wanted to get from ACC to, say, BGI, I'd rather book UA via IAD or BA via LHR.

As long as I can remember UA has been a bit-part player in the eastern Caribbean although things improved by the acquisition EWR from the CO purchase. Of course IAH-POS was all about oil as will IAH-GEO.

TPA and MCO are gateways to tourist destinations with the majority of visitors coming from other states of the US and a lot of international visitors coming from Canada and UK. The Caribbean doesn't figure here.

A problem for Norse is the competition from VS which operates a daily LHR-MBJ service, although on the return there are five none-5th freedom weekly flights (three routed via NAS and two via PLS). Still, it does enable VS to offer NAS and PLS in competition with BA.

Norse Atlantic has spent two years plannung the route but having a load factor of barely 47% to BGI in December must be regarded as quite disappointing. Of course the competition is stiff with BA's 12 weekly flights (seven from LHR and five from LGW) and VS's 11 from LHR.

My recollection is that the winter seasonal LHR-BGI flights using the 744 on Saturdays ended in about March 2004 and since then additional flights have always been with 772s. The amount of planned investment in Guyana is astounding, so we'll see more people visiting Guyana. If the government can solve the problems of housing and healthcare then some of the diaspora will certainly want to return to Guyana.

BW will operate POS-MCO on Saturdays between 16 December and 6 January using to 737 MAX 8. Flights will depart at 0815 arriving 1145, return flights will depart at 1425 arriving 1930. Same-day connections are available in both directions for GEO and BGI.

KX flies LAX-GCM on Thursdays and Sundays, nothing to do with GCM-BGI on Wednesdays. BGI is no more a hub than ANU or UVF are hubs for BA. These are just gateways for shuttle flights to other regional countries and in the case of BGI the GND and SVD flights have been bookable since 14 June as they are 5th freedom, but let's not get too carried away.

I believe that Ryanair is carrying about 12m passengers a year at MAN. Why on earth should BA re-establish a base at MAN and compete against the experts in low-cost flying.

Gaston Browne says his administration is pushing ahead with plans to launch the LIAT 2020 by November this year, and is prepared to invest between US$15-20 million in the new venture. Negotiations are ongoing with Air Peace for it to take a majority stake in LIAT.

I think BA considers a flight to be "on time" if it arrives within 15 minutes of its scheduled arrival time.

Back in the old(ish) days there used to be three daily LI GND-BGI flights.
1. GND-CIW-BGI (morning)
2. GND-TAB-BGI (afternoon)
3. GND-BGI (evening)

My brief experience with all three was that there was a lot of passengers on CIW-BGI and TAB-BGI but little on GND-BGI.
