My understanding is that he did come over in the usual 747 but took the smaller 757 on hop to Agra to visit the Taj Mahal. 747 will again fly hi back from DEL.

I was trying hard to find the source where I read this - but apparently DEL-IAD AI have to block off 20+ seats using a 788 on this route. But the fuel saved more than makes up fr the penalty. IAD-DEL has no issues.

Surat Airport crosses 100,000 passenger traffic for the first time in September 2018. The traffic was just 13,000 in September 2016! PNQ - which the 9th busiest in India had over 2.3 million pax in Apr-Jun 18 qtr - about 770k p/m... And these WWWAS folks claim 30% of BOM feed comes from STV..lol...

The booking engine shows Business Class to be 2 abreast (1-1) while Eco is going to be standard 6 abreast (3-3). So LH is resuming FRA-PNQ with the Winter schedule but apparently with an LH mainline A319 - which basically means no real business class seat and an excruciating 11 hrs with a stop over in EACH direction now rather than only westbound before. LH had increased FRA-PNQ to 6x / week fairly recently IIRC. So I suspect this is more driven by operational reasons than commercial. Hopefully it gets reinstated in winter schedule.... This makes sense on very limited, extremely high yield routes. And there's like 3 of them in the world. JFK-LCY is one on an a318. SQ will likely restart SIN-JFK (although that is a widebody). The closest we have to regular scheduled service in the US is the a321T that AA flies between JFK and LAX/...
