Re: BA short haul widebody use after May 17th

BA had operated B788 and occasionally B789 on a number of European routes before COVID. Very often on the AMS, ZRH, ATH and LCA plus a few others. Also MAD has B77W daily and IB use A330’s and A359 though I know this is due to freight demand and for passenger using connections. So not uncommon to se...

Re: Short-haul aircraft like KL 747 Combi?

I know there are a couple of operates in Canada (Nolinor Aviation is definitely one) that have B732’s and B733’s in combi modes. These planes have the main cargo door at the front so freight/cargo sits at the front and passengers sit at the back of the plane. Have a look on YouTube sure I’ve seen vi...

Very interesting news. I’d imagine it would stop three on both sections. Wouldn’t won’t to be a passenger on these. I’m gonna take a guess at the routing.
DEL-SAW-SNN-KEF-JFK Could make it empty SNN-JFK
JFK-KEF-LHR-SAW-DEL Again could make it empty from JFK to LHR

Re: EI looking to start transatlantic from MAN

I think this will be a good decision for EI/IAG. Taking a familiar brand to MAN, which EI is to the UK market. I can see the only slight disadvantage to these direct flights from MAN will be the chance to pre-clear immigration in DUB. This is always a great bonus when flying through DUB or SNN.

Everyone is always so quick to write Stansted off. But look how strong Emirates and Air India where previously. Also when Primera was flying they did very well to. Just because Stansted is the home of Ryanair and low cost carriers dose not mean it can not hold up transatlantic routes or flights with...

Re: What happened to British Airways world cargo?

Just to clarify. The Qatar Cargo B77F’s come from HKG via DOH to STN with BA cargo. They leave empty 99.99% of the time to different European cities (FRA, MXP, CDG, BRU, OSL) then pick up their own freight from there.

For current operations as pointed out both will easily be able to operate from T5 with no real issues. When both airlines start to pick up and begin a more normal service later this year into next. It may get a bit congested at times. But this will be great for a customer point of view for connectio...

When BA has the B767’s they did multiple European cities each day to help with Cargo uplift. AMS, FRA, CPH, ARN, EDI, ZRH, ATH and LCA all from what I can remember. I‘am surprised they didn’t send a B772 or B788 to some of these destinations after the B767’s where retired. Saw the FRA flight multipl...

Re: EWR - LHR - Becoming a niche market?

There is simply no comparison between EWR and JFK. The only reason airlines fly to EWR is because it is cheaper than the main NYC airport. And then those airlines can BOAST that they fly to NYC. I have always seen EWR as the NYC version of London Stansted - i.e. not to be taken seriously by any ser...

American, Delta and United do it in the states. South African do it too. QANTAS does it in Australia. Saudi do it, British Airways used to, need we go on. If an airline flies wide bodies regularly domestically there must be a reason and that’s because it works for them.
