Just to go slightly off topic, does anybody on the forum know what the futures are for the Etihad and Qatar Airbus A380's, I know that QR has parked their fleet for the short term but I can't seem to find any information regarding the Etihad 380's. also why did EK take delivery of their early A380's...Jump to post
BBC News here in the UK are reporting on this as well:
Slightly off topic, how long are spares manufactured for once the last frame is completed and delivered to the airline/customer?. Whilst, like others I am sad that Airbus have called time on the A380 but the aircraft has had its day with the likes of the Airbus A321LR,A350-900/100 and also the Boein...Jump to post

Back in 2008 I flew to Palma de Mallorca from Stansted on EI-CSC, I think that this was one of Ryanair's first batch of 738's as it still had the Boeing 'eyebrows' and did not have the winglets compared to the aircraft on the return flight, I also remember that the cabin on CSC had the old style rec...Jump to post
The small Greek island of Skiathos (JSI/LGSK) has some excellent photo and spotting opportunities during the summer months as the end of the main runway is located near a main road, there are some photos of arriving and departing airliners in the photo database here on Airliners.net.Jump to post
Easyjet - to replace the A319s they are selling to United Ryanair?, I remember MOL saying that the airline was interested in the C Series - it's an outside bet but possible, maybe joining the LCC race over the pond to the U.S? The again they have got a MAX order which could probably do the job as w...Jump to post
Back in the 1980's and into the mid 90's I remember seeing Iberia operating the intra-island shuttles in the Canaries with A300's,Boeing 727-200 and also the DC-9, and also on occasion the Boeing 747-200 would pick up some slack in between it's flights from Madrid to Las Palmas. Also I remember seei...Jump to post
Hard as it may be to accept - Monarch was an injured baby seal that needed to be clubbed. A sad end to nearly 50 years of history, I remember as a child flying to Malta from Luton in 1982 on one their Boeing 737-200's (G-DFUB) and then a year later to Reus on one of their BAC 1-11's (G-AWWZ) I also...Jump to post
Jet2.com increases capacity at three former Monarch bases Jet2.com and Jet2holidays has increased capacity from former Monarch hubs Birmingham, Manchester and Leeds. I hope that there is a happy ending for Monarch as I feel sorry for the staff that are having to go through another period of uncertainty, I hate to say this but unless a magic rabbit is pulled out of the hat ASAP then I fear the end is very close for the airline.Jump to post
I arrived in to Stansted on a evening flight from Palma after a short holiday a few days ago and even at 5.30pm there was huge ques for immigration and NONE of the e-gates was working add to that there was only three Border Control officers manually checking passports for both EU and non-EU national...Jump to post
I believe it will say in your Manage My Booking if it is operated by Qatar. If you can't see that, then it's not. From what I can gather the aircraft are shifted about. I've seen reports of them flying to LUX, KRK. VIE, SOF, ARN, BCN... loads of places really. People in Club Europe report they are ...Jump to post
Refurbishment of the A380s should keep the fleet going for many years to come, and basically means the leases of these aircraft will be extended. Singapore Airlines (SIA) plans to retrofit 14 of its Airbus A380 aircraft. ... The media report indicates that the new cabin configuration will also be u...Jump to post
Monarch was kind of left on the shelf at this point bizzarely, at the same time Easyjet/Ryanair started making inroads into the LCC market which was a totally different concept, ZB could have got on board with this in the early days but didn't, instead they stuck with what they knew. Quite so. I re...Jump to post

Like stated by others it's pretty common practice during Summer season. EB (Wamos) is operating various intraeuropean routes with a 747 on behalf of DY for exemple. I have also seen EB's 744 and A330's at BHX and MAN just recently operating extra lift for TOM,MT and also ZB, going off subject does ...Jump to post
How about EMA or LTN?, neither has TATL flights and bearing in mind that Ryanair has a strong presence at both airports and is getting the 737MAX and with LTN being U2's back yard and also getting the 321neo, it kind of makes me wonder which one of these two will be the first to join the party acros...Jump to post

How about EK flights from STN?, saves folk who live in that area having to commute to LHR or LGW if they want to visit Dubai or further afield - it could work for EK and also does anybody know if STN is capable of handling the A380?.
Also as a outside bet what about LTN??
I remember flying from Luton to Almeria on Dan Air back in 1988, outbound was on BAC 1-11 500 G-BDAS and coming back was on BAC 1-11-500 G-BEKA, both times I was sat right at the back by the engines and I still remember boarding the 1-11 from the backstairs and the drone from the APU!!. A few years ago I remember seeing one of Delta's Boeing 777's whilst waiting for my VS flight back to Gatwick and I also remember seeing one of their Tristar's at MCO back in 1999/2000.
Does Delta still send their widebody's to MCO on the short run from Atlanta?.
Any idea if they will be looking to place additional orders for 737s? Hands up if we will see Ryanair take over Air Europa in the near future?, given UX operates Boeing 737-800's and has a long haul fleet in the shape of Airbus A330's and new Boeing 787-8 Dreamliners then it's ready made for Ryanai...Jump to post
