Now that BA is thrice or 4x weekly from LGW directly to/from POS what are those loads looking like these days? Are those 777s being filled to and from?
Jump to postAccording to Sir Tim Clark, Emirates has 165 aircraft on order (115 B777x + 50 A350), and might place an aircraft order. (A350-1000??). https://www.thenationalnews.com/business/aviation/2023/05/02/emirates-to-deliver-exceptionally-good-annual-earnings-tim-clark-says/ I can see something obviously b...
Jump to postThrowing IST out there! SFO or EWR to IST would be pretty cool.
LAX/SFO to MNL, BKK, and SGN I can see happening.
I know UA coverage in parts of the lower Caribbean are also scarce so it would be cool for them to re-add POS from EWR and add GEO somehow. Even GND or UVF are good adds.
Forgive me if this question was covered before, but was LAX ever a big market for EY? With QR double-daily and EK with their history, will they ever add LAX back to their network?
Jump to postSU111 from MIA - SVO is about to cross by Nuuk (GOH) on its way up. Will be interesting to see that path back - probably up, over, and then down south to Moscow.
Jump to postThe title doesn't really reflect the article. All Russian flights have been banned from all EU and UK airspace therefore naturally Aeroflot and any other Russian aircraft private and commercial won't be operating. It is also on a Reuters article as well: https://www.reuters.com/business/aerospace-d...
Jump to postFrom the article --
... a Boeing 777 (presumably) full of passengers and fuel was descending right after takeoff, to the point that it was lower than many high rises in Dubai, and flying at a very fast pace.
Emirates, in addition to SEA, to resume DFW and SFO and increase LAX and JFK. Emirates US Network now: BOS, ORD, IAH, LAX, JFK, and IAD. Feb 1: SEA - 4x weekly JFK - 14x weekly at double daily LAX - From what I think was a few times/week will go daily March 2 : SFO - 4x weekly DFW - 3x weekly - Oper...
Jump to postI think BA, AF, and Swiss are some solid contenders
Jump to postConsidering only the Russians and Americans have shot down civilian airliners, I think you’ll be alright. That’s not even close to true. EK 216 (LAX-DXB) has detoured around Iran each of the last 2 days. Not sure if they purposely detour it though. Every time I've done EK216, we've never gone over ...
Jump to postI guess this is some relief for those at BW. Though I don't think they were ever worried about AA entering the market- B6 is what they should be worried about in my opinion. I think AA would have the most to lose (even further). It’s not as if BW has not had it’s issues in GEO, google BW 523. Yes I...
Jump to postTruly an end of an era for Emirates. Given the many odds against him, he still managed to transform EK to the clout heavy airline it is today in the aviation industry. I still think the A380 would not be what it is today without his vision for EK (despite the economics around it). His successor has ...

Jump to postAccording to the airline - Flight EK588 will depart Dubai at 22:30hrs and arrive in Dhaka at 05:20hrs next day. The return flight EK589 will depart Dhaka at 08:00hrs and arrive in Dubai at 11:00hrs. The service has been carefully timed to create convenient connections to popular cities, including Lo...
Jump to postI know nothing about LHR or LGW (or which BA aircraft are solely in which airport), but can BA realistically fill and profit off of a daily LGW-DXB on a 772 on top of their already dailies to Dubai? I know EK does it well. While it's not completely crazy, I'm still perplexed on the economics if this...
Jump to postInstead of adding routes to US and elsewhere, AI should focus on catching up with Gulf & Western carriers on soft and hard products. IMO AI is trailing others by a decade. Even if AI did announce a route to either DFW or IAH, there are only a couple of strong reasons why anyone(traveling to Ind...
Jump to postI'm optimistic about BW surviving. They've built their loyalty in GEO and in a way monopolized the JFK route for a while. I think at one point BW was the de-facto flag carrier of Guyana. Comparing BW to AA, then I think it's AA that would have more to lose, but then again, I think two carriers on JF...
Jump to postThe flight is back on. Loaded and ready to start in December via Lomé. They also announced it on their social media today. The aircraft will be on the ground at Houston for 20 hours. This is the best they can do given the established feed options they have at Lomé. Great to see attempt number 3! Is...
Jump to postWN is going to be permanently discontinuing SFO-AUS and SFO-DAL nonstop service after January 5th. WN dropping SFO-MKE seasonal nonstop service and adding OAK-MKE nonstop service might happen with WN having already dropped SFO-ATL/PDX/SNA and WN dropping SFO-AUS/DAL. I honestly think it makes sense...
Jump to postDo all of these routes get covered by competitors or was WN the sole operator on some of them? Depends on how one defines sole operator. For example: Dallas-Love (WN hub) to SFO competes with Dallas/Fort Worth (American hub) to SFO. They are different airports and different operators (UA & AA),...
Jump to postI'm not quite well-versed in aviation/airplane engineering, but I don't think EK will write it off. If anything, I would think EK would want to try their best in repairing it considering the current state of Airbus and A380 production. I agree with what someone said above, the timing is good on Airb...
Jump to postI think DAL-SFO is the most "Hmm" to me. But in my opinion it does makes sense - I think both SJC & OAK - DAL adequately covers the Bay Area to Dallas on WN.
Jump to postDXB-TNR is 2,671 nm. It’s doable for a Max 8, but tight for a 737-800, especially when you consider how far alternate airports are. Another problem is that TNR is at 4,200ft ASL, with only a 10,171 ft runway. The flight back to DXB might be weight restricted on a narrowbody. A widebody is the prefe...
Jump to postMaybe I am just talking nonsense, but would a triangular route be good in this situation? Especially to really compete with ET & TK? Something like: DXB - TNR - MGQ (Mogadishu) - DXB or DXB - MPM (Maputo) - TNR - DXB (QR flies a 788 to MPM a few times for the week) or if we're really getting wil...
Jump to postThis is my first post on A.Net so don't jump on me too much, but the first thing I think about upon seeing the thread title, of course, relates heavily to the politics. What comes to my mind is the geopolitics behind Arab world not recognizing Israel. Which is easily manifested into very little conn...
