Did Allegiant do charter flights from MIA to Cuba in like 2007-2011? I remember seeing some Allegiant Aircraft at MIA in the terminal around that time.

Any news on potential routes? Delta might open SJC/BNA/AUS-MIA since they shifted the airports to focus cities. FLL would also work too. I also heard UIA is interested in starting Kiev-Miami.

It's astounding this has not happened. Portland is a large city compared to some cities MIA/FLL has destinations to. I could see AS doing PDX-FLL or even Sun Country with PDX-MIA.

That would surprise me. PDX-MIA would by SY's longest flight in their system. Actually, SY has many routes that are over the PDX-MIA flight time which would be about 5 hours. MSP-AUA, PDX-HNL, MSP-SKB are all consistently over 5 hours. Mileage seems a more suitable metric than block time don't you ...

It seems like there isn’t maybe an occasional 777 or 767 but I do not think AYT has any long haul flights, I could see Delta from JFK or United from EWR trying it out but who knows?

You are missing Emirates, Qatar, El Al, Royal Air Maroc, Arkefly (or whatever it’s called now).
