Re: Passenger blows slide on PIA 777 at Manchester

The reason only 37 passengers had to be off loaded is that they probably decided to take off without reinstalling the slide. At least per FAA regulations that is ok as long as you remove a certain number of passengers so that there are enough operational slides. This happened to me many years ago on...

Re: American Airlines could return to Tel Aviv (TLV)?

AA as far as I know does not owe money to the Israeli gov't. Rather they owe money (some $15-20 million) under Israeli labor law to the 80 TWA employees who were terminated when AA discontinued TWA's TLV flights upon acquiring TWA. Many of the 80 employees had greater than 25 years seniority and wer...

Re: Alaska Airlines flight diversion leads to 30-hr nightmare for passengers

Alaska is known for their friendly service but reliability is an issue. My last two fights with them were cancelled, one this week at SFO with cancellation announcement the night before and one a few weeks ago at EWR without any explanation two hours before the flight) - i looked up the latest stats...

Re: LY Religious Woes Redux

I was at JFK that day on a Delta flight to SAN that was cancelled after we had to return to the gate after 3 hrs waiting to deice (for some reason the deicing crew left midway and we ended up exceeding 3 hrs since doors closed and one passenger insisted on deplaning). Ended up on a second flight whi...

Re: Delta Employee Uses Vulgarities Towards Customer @ PDX

While i agree that videotaping is pretty aggressive, it is an essential tool to document what is happening. Otherwise who would believe the passenger? Airline service (particularly on United) has degenerated into complete rudeness to the customer. On board their usual excuse is security- dare to pro...

Re: Delta Rolls Out Delta One to JFK-LAS/SAN/SEA

Looking at delta.com there are no Delta One flights listed JFK/SAN for next summer on about 10 dates which i checked for. The morning departure at 8:30 am has been with lie flat seats for a long time (with few exceptions) but the service and fares is regular first class. So not clear to me that this...

Re: TK35 ISTYUL 13OCT What's going on?

I have had to take care of fainting passengers on multiple transatlantic flights. Especially in a young person and barring any concomitant underlying cardiac diagnosis it is entirely benign. It is also not an uncommon occurrence due to 1)dehydration 2)concurrent gastro issues such as unfortunately t...
