Turkish carries a large chunk of traffic as transfers to Israel. I believe they are the foreign carrier with the largest presence at TLV and hold a good chunk of the market to Israel along with IB.

Re: LATAM suspends GRU-FCO route

Just out of curiosity - was it the poor economics of the 763 that caused them to end this route? MXP is home to the majority of the Brazilian diaspora in Italy. JJ has done well on MXP because of VFR and fashion week. Alitalia does averagely okay on FCO-GRU and the flight itself is enough to fulfil...

Awesome! Lima continues to prove itself as a valuable asset for LATAM. The product offered on the 787 is better suited to compete with IB on the lucrative MAD route.

If LAX is to be upgauged to 787 then I hope JFK would be as well.

Re: National Debate About The New Mexico City Airport Just Started. Can MEX and NLU operate simultaneously with no issue

Mexico City needs a new airport period. More than likely, the vote will be to stick it out and finish the much needed new airport. Splitting operations is only going to hurt the city and country since many international flyers who arrive in MEX are transferring to other domestic flights. The current...

Re: Ethiopian wants to start four airlines before the year's end

Ethiopian fly nearly anywhere in Africa with a runway, and have airlines operating under them as well. However, a significant hole in their network on the continent is in the North - there are no flights to Algeria / Morocco / Tunisia, etc. What's with that? It seems that North Africans are covered...

I can see why, the Filipino community is big in the Chicago area. But as stated above, ORD is drowning with Asian carriers and the fares will show it. Good for the consumer, but damn. Anyway, another beautiful bird at T5!

About time a carrier flies ORD-BJX nonstop. Last flights were on Mexicana with a stop in MTY. There’s definitely demand, I’m sure bookings will be healthy. Volaris has had the Chicago-BJX route to themselves for the past five years. They currently operate MDW-BJX 4x weekly with a mix of A319/A320, ...

I’m sort of happy to see them struggling. They were so overprotected under the Kirchner’s. Many of us Argentines had to deal with sh*tty customer service and operations as a norm. LATAM Argentina has changed that up, and so will the new carriers. It’s about time they realize how unwanted they are in...

748 is too big of an aircraft for LY’s current ops other than maybe JFK, LAX. The airline has been in dire need of a technological reboot in terms of product offering. The 787 has and will be just that. Said to see the 747 go, LY’s livery looks STUNNING on it.

A shame to see them go. AM was the last Latin American carrier of the 772 and their livery looked stellar on it. 789 will be a good replacement, though it offers 10 less Y seats compared to the 772, which makes quite the difference on routes to MAD and GRU that could use as many Y seats as possible.
