Is anything being done to shorten the time landing aircraft take to reach the gates? CLT has the longest ground time reaching gates I have ever experienced. Taxi time is way down right now with the reduced schedule. The biggest problem is flights on D and E-Concourse landing and taking off on 18C/3...Jump to post

Delta and United have both written off airplanes in accidents since then. Correct. For Delta N909DL (MD-88 landing in the snowstorm at LGA in 2015) and N664US (747-400 that suffered hail damage flying through Chinese airspace in 2015) were both written off. United had N26123 — the hard landing 757-...Jump to post
Did any of the 767s or A330s have First Class? The 330-300’s had 6 First Class seats, iirc lie flat and (at the time of delivery) were actually one of a kind at the time.. 9/11 changed all of that and they were eventually just sold as Envoy class or Chairman’s Preferred were upgraded. That was so l...Jump to post
Tell that to the victims of Avianca 52, USAir 1493/SkyWest 5569, Aeromexico 498, and PSA 182. This troll can't cite anything more recent than 28 years ago. Everyone involved here seems to have done a tremendous job, flight crew and ATC alike. Trust me, no one wants to work with the FAA willingly. N...Jump to post
I know they generally investigate accidents, but wonder if the NTSB will want to look into this one.Jump to post

Here's a quick summary of frequencies and aircraft types from the network carriers at ROC during the runway 4/22 closure in late August/early September. I just chose August 27 so these may vary day to day. Delta definitely made the most adjustments, adding a mainline frequency to JFK, an extra mainl...Jump to post

Two things, 1st AE operates 3 daily BOS-ROC flights. 2nd I find it highly unlikely that AA will start a new regional route out of BOS, as they have only been reducing regional flying out of BOS. Great. Even more reason to move one to ITH. SYR gets by on just one flight a day. And they're not adding...Jump to post

I would find it very surprising for DL to add BOS-upstate new york routes. They would get killed on that and it will have no strategic relevance. DL already flies BOS-BUF. But in general yes I agree. Three carriers flying BOS-ROC would be overkill for a market that size. If DL adds it I imagine AA ...Jump to post
AA updated their May schedule today. ROC loses mainline (again). A319 frequencies from ROC-CLT and ROC-PHL are gone. ROC-CLT goes back to 4x CRJ900 (not even the Embraers). ROC-PHL 4x ERJ-145 and 1x EMB175. Though DCA gains a EMB175 frequency (3 to 4 total). BOS and ORD remain unchanged. Very disapp...Jump to post
I'm glad the County did that. Frequency is more important to me than aircraft. It dictates the flight/carrier that I choose. Most of my travel is for business and I like to be able to get in a few hours of work before heading out, when possible. And for the return flight, I like having multiple ret...Jump to post
AA has 2x ROC - BOS and 1daily SYR which is at a horrible time and is always delayed. I’m surprised they haven’t dropped these routes yet as AA doesn’t have much connecting traffic (other than to their hubs) out of BOS and their only non-hub routes are SYR, ROC, and MDT . They have to be doing poor...Jump to post
I saw this mentioned in the Upstate New York thread but didn't see its own thread. Air Canada appears to be ending three Beech 1900 routes to the U.S. Harrisburg, Rochester and Syracuse are all gone from the schedule after October 31. I didn't check the domestic Canada Beech 1900 routes. Are those a...Jump to post
I'll be flying to ROC next week, so I'll take pictures of the construction progress and ramp action. Very annoyed by CRJ's on DCA-ROC. An AA hub like that and they can't support mostly CR7/ E75 even in the fall? Something sounds off. Jim What gives on the E145 to CRJ conversions? Trans States is en...Jump to post
Heard a rumor in Polish media that LOT may start transatlantic flights BNIA, would be pretty wild considering how many Polish people live across the border in Ontario. Disappointing news for ROC with WN reducing service to BWI from 3x daily to 2x daily with their latest schedule extension. Does anyone have any idea why the draw down? This is disappointing. I just checked the load factors the other day and WN has an annual average of 85.43% in ROC. Not horrible.
While spotting at ROC today I came across a swift air 737-400 N801TJ. It was parked at WN's Gate A1. It departed to SYR as Swift 6800. Pictures at the link below. https://twitter.com/theOrangetechie/status/1010603426382741506 Anyone know why it was at ROC? According to JetTip.Net, they tweeted me i...Jump to post
I'd like to think one of them would give ROC-FLL a go, but WN has been at their current schedule for years now (3 BWI, 1 MCO, 1 TPA) and B6 hasn't moved from the 3 JFK for some time (though a fourth starts in September).
Maybe Spirit would come in, since Frontier is at BUF and SYR.

What RL757PVD said. Good for SYR, getting nine weeklies, not just say two or four. I've never thought it a serious possibility that Frontier would come to ROC. My guess is, that given Frontier's business model, IAG and SYR will represent them for Upstate New York, and maybe ALB at some point. Were ...Jump to post
We know this already ..... even with the change. Legacy carriers for the most part arent growing in upstate NY airports. Above someone mentioned ROC getting more mainline service. My biggest questions about ROC right now are: In general, it is concerning that ROC must be one of WN's smallest stations. 3x to BWI, 1x to MCO and TPA. I always fear that ROC will get cut by WN, especially given new competition from Allegiant. I think Southwest is safe at ROC. They've been stable ...Jump to post
