What routes will DL be flying with these?

I believe the consensus is that they will first be used out of JFK/LGA. Primarily on longer routes like LGA-STL. Someone please correct me if I am wrong though.

I've been to BON, EYW, GCM, JTR. GCM was the best of the bunch. JTR was a horror that I wish I could erase from my memory.

Re: British Airways to launch Nashville

I haven't been following BNA - has JL said they are considering Nashville? Direct flights to London and Tokyo are the top overseas priorities for BNA officials. Now that they (hopefully it will be officially announced soon) landed London, my guess is the attention will turn to Tokyo. Why Tokyo? Doe...

Re: PIT Update Discussion Thread Part 34

I agree that the final part of the customs process is a bit funky. But without it, everyone would have to go through that small security checkpoint (which would be a disaster).

You can't push someone away and expect no response. Should the airport worker have done it? I mean, probably not...but I'm pretty sure 95% of people are going to push back in these circumstances.

Re: PIT Update Discussion Thread Part 34

I'm on the fence about the whole BA thing. On one hand, $6 million seems like a ridiculous amount of money for a subsidy. On the other hand, BWI is paying the same amount per flight (~$16,000) that we are for Condor.

Maybe better than forgetting to lower it for landing! :duck: Definately better than almost landing on a taxiway that had 4 airplanes on it, 3 of which loaded with fuel for 14+ hour flights in good visibility! Agreed. This is almost comical stupidity; AC 759 was five seconds away from 200+ deaths.

Re: US airline hub closures

I'm nowhere near as knowledgeable as some people on this forum, I would think that airports with low O&D are the most likely to get cut (if an airline is looking to close a hub). Especially if there is already another hub in the same region.

Very curious what you guys think about the quote from Christina Cassotis on the Porter flight. Ms. Cassotis was not pleased with the decision and blamed it on the airline’s marketing efforts. “I really believe that they did not go about selling this market properly and, unfortunately, they weren’t r...

Huge props to the JetBlue flight attendant + police officer. They were patient and did everything they could to de-escalate the situation. Unfortunately, the parents decided to not listen and threw a temper tantrum instead.

Looks like they stopped for fuel; I'm guessing they didn't have enough to detour + avoid the storms.

Honestly, unless I'm flying overseas in first class, I'd gladly take a vegetarian meal over any other offerings. The quality of meat/fish in most airline meals is just gross to me.

Re: PIT Update Discussion Thread Part 34

Is it realistic that there will ever be connections in Pittsburgh again? Seems like Ms. Cassotis always downplays that and is generally not in favor of pursuing? There are already connections in PIT with Southern Airways, and this will grow as they add flights. As for WN, all they need is a couple ...

With AA's continued brutal cuts on this route, this was inevitable. Good news for Biz travelers looking for a legacy option to BOS other than AA. This complements B6's offerings nicely. Agreed although I would have preferred WN add this route so they could start building some through flights and co...

You are not able to pre-clear customs when traveling through Billy Bishop. You must clear customs in PIT. I had to do this when flying Porter.

A few other things: - PD's point of sale is very heavily Canada based. They never were able to establish much of a local traffic base. Rough guess 80%+ Canadian point of sale. - When they cut the schedule from 2 flights to 1 they eliminated the morning flight and kept the afternoon. That killed bus...
