Re: The Rest of Ohio - 2019

Not news, but just an observation on the ULCC market in Cincinnati. I’ve noticed both Southwest and especially Allegiant have been very present in the Cincinnati market with sponsorship, while Frontier has been noticeably absent. Southwest at Washington Park, Allegiant with FC Cincinnati and Fountai...

Frontier is adding 4 new seasonal routes from CVG: MSY, SRQ, MIA, and FLL. No new routes to CVG unfortunately, but it's nice to see more MSY service and F9 expanding again after all their cutbacks. https://www.cincinnati.com/story/news/2019/06/18/frontier-airlines-new-flights-cincinnati-new-orleans-...

Re: The Rest of Ohio - 2019

The official ground breaking for the Amazon Air hub at CVG was today. I looked around for renderings but could only find this short video on Twitter. https://twitter.com/davehclark/status/1128416809986641920?s=09 It makes DHL's facility look small. And this is only phase 1. The Business Courier is ...

Allegiant actually has 30" seat pitch, better than many "legacy" airlines. The fact that they don't recline means you actually have more space as well, and no seatback right in your face. Works fine for their typical 2 hour stage length. Which lagacy has less than 30" pitch?????...

Unfortunately it looks like WN is dropping a CVG-MDW frequency, dropping down to 4. Unless that's been going on for a while.

Yep, DL isn’t squatting on gates, they use all of them at peak times. Agreed, I don’t get the obsession with a new terminal. CVG is nicely laid out as is. Really the only issue is the customs area. Yep. The customs area is the only real problem with the airport. Once the new CONRAC is finished, the...

Two things I wonder are 1. Are they negotiating the framework/funding for replacing the terminal at CVG 2. DL's future role at CVG DL is squatting on a lot of gates in B that could be better used elsewhere, if they aren't going to use them all to a decent extent, they should become common use. Give...

CVG has posted bids for 12 food concessions and another sit-down restaurant. Looks like 6 and 6 in both concourses. Not sure if the concessions are new or replacements of current vendors. Chapel room is also being relocated to Concourse B to free up space in the main terminal. Also an interesting t...

Aren't there some DL gates at ORD that are size restricted? I thought they were constrained on the number of gates that could fit 737/A320/757 sized aircraft. I believe there are some gates that are limited by wingspan to MD88/MD90 or less and/or some even CR2/7/9 sized aircraft? From my experience...
