Thai used to fly daily to Dhahran, using DC10, A300 and DC8 aircraft over the years.

I flew their A300 DHA-BKK in the late 80s. Hoping DMM isn’t overlooked and RUH/JED get routes.

Not a popular opinion, but I really like it. It’s a departure from the plain eurowhite trend, and imagine a load lined up at the terminal, will look pretty fresh and modern.

Dhahran is a different city.


Absolutely! By the time Dammam DMM opened, KLM had started using their 767s. KLM’s A310s were only ever flown to Dhahran DHA.

Dammam was served by BA and Bmi in the past and Dhahran previously for many years from both Heathrow and Gatwick. The aircraft diverted due to weather. Wasn’t on the ground for long. Phoenix was nearest available BA destination for ground support. Crew got to their hotel in Denver at 0130 local time, a shift and a half!!

What is the reason for Pegasus Airlines not to serve Saudi Arabia from SAW? (specially since they serve UAE, Oman, Kuwait and Qatar). It seems like a missing opportunity there; short flights and huge O&D and connecting traffic markets. TK has multiple daily flights to the Kingdom from Istanbul....

Summer 2015 will see BA swap the 3 class 777 for a 4 class 747 on the Denver, Colorado route.

I would expect it to be the Mid-J version with fewer Club World seats.

As with the DUB route, this is more about Toronto-Halifax-Glasgow and vice versa. There will be some pax destined to and from Halifax, but the route is primarily Toronto to Glasgow vv.
