Are you looking for a completely flyable aircraft like John Travoltas 707. Or are you looking for just a lawn ornament?
Hi! I'm curious...not that I have the money because I don't, but say that you wanted to collect real airline airplanes and buy a few a la John Travolta...where would you look to find them? Are there any airlines who'd be willing to sell some of their used aircraft or retiring aircraft to a collector...Jump to post

Probably NK. Seems like a good market for them to hit up the leisure routes. That was my first thought as well, but I wonder if it might be G4. Apparently the rumor is they're announcing new bases at BNA and ABE and expansion at others (if it hasn't been announced already), so a new city would fit ...Jump to post
Hi! Just noticed on my Air New Zealand magazine's route map...they don't have flight s to the NY area... Which begs to wonder...why?? Thanks and God bless! Could you please change the title to something that makes sense? And ALL CAPS MAKES IT LOOK LIKE YOU SCREAM AT US... ;) Sorry..I didnt mean fo-...Jump to post
Simple reason none of the aircraft in there fleet are not currently configured to allow this route to operate with an reasonable payload. AKL-ORD is currently the max reach of there current 789 configuration. Both on NZ’a 789 configuration are high density and focus on Y. Once the 781 start rolling...Jump to post
It seems AA started DFW-SJU in 1982 http://www.departedflights.com/AADFWhub.html I'll check -- probably a 727? viewtopic.php?f=4&t=1425953 Apparently, yes. In my ten year old then mind, I thought the '27 was too small for such a route. I always guessed they came from Miami, St. Maarten (AA did ...Jump to post

I seem to remember LH flew 747s out of LPB and they would rumble down the runway for what seemed like five minutes before they could get airborne? I don't know if they flew non-stop to Europe or made a fuel stop somewhere though, I would guess they stopped. I think Lufthansa stopped at SJU between ...Jump to post
Probably could. There are more than one reclear points so range and divert opportunities exist. Three engines overwater was not uncommon. I operated many charter flights with both 727-100 and -200 aircraft over comparable routes with standard tankage. Thanks! Out of curiosity..what airline did you ...Jump to post
Would be fantastic if CBP setup pre-clearance at ISB in anticipation of more flights - maybe the US3 will jump in.. Uh no. Don't hold your breath on preclearance, it will be a very long time before that is remotely viable. The only one of the US3 that COULD make at least ONE Pakistani city work is ...Jump to post
Hi! Just out of curiosity could a 727 fly Texas-PR non-stop? Its a question I've long had in my mind and doubt anyone posted here before....back in the day I used to see plenty of Mexicana 727's from Mexico City at San Juan which is a comparable distance but with the variable that Mexicana's flights...Jump to post
Good luck with this, where is there land available to build a new airport? Moses Lake is way too far. Seattle/Tacoma definitely needs a new greenfield airport, but I don't think it can be done in a location that is convenient to downtown. Exactly what i thought! Im no Seattle expert, having been in...Jump to post

With Jet Airways gone (or on the brink as there is discussion about investors coming in) this would be a second terrible blow for aviation this year. Asiana in its existence has built itself a name in the industry and a lot of people like their service.Jump to post
Hi! Sorry if it's been discussed here before, I didnt find any threads about this so here it goes: Out of curiosity...could Icelandair's 757s make it non-stop from Reyklavik to the Caribbean? no one wants to be stuck at an airport. Speak for yourself! :D It depends on the airport. EWR Terminal B or DFW after 4 PM, no thank you. Wow that land has bad juju. Did someone disturb some anchient bureacrat/high priest whose specter will haunt the grounds until appeased. Google has a new algorithm that can remove the planes from the picture. I hate that, its stupid. Why would companies want to remove something that shows their logo-for free to them-from anywhere? Nothing on April Fool's Day, but a good joke on us by an Airtran captain, who diffused an unhappy situation with some humor a few years ago.
