Re: Updated: DL retired MD-80/90s quickly

Colateral damage from the retirement of the MD88's and COVID is being felt in Florida. GNV and TLH used to receive Delta mainline, but it appears that they have been demoted to regional-only service from Endeavor. Also, MLB and DAB are down to just one B712 flight daily (each) and may be inching th...

Re: Delta plans to emerge a "smaller" carrier

Today they ferried the few 717s that had been flying from DTW down to ATL. At least for the interim, going forward all 717 flying is from ATL. DTW will supposedly resume 717 flying after they realign the pilot group and training and when the operation scales back-up. What are they replacing the 717...

Re: DL to permanently retire entire 777 fleet

DL is attempting to downsize its fleet and reduce aircraft types and staff headcounts. I very much doubt that they will be ordering any new aircraft in 2020. Corvid-19 has caused demand to vanish and most airlines are not looking at expansion. They will be lucky to survive this! Yes but DL is going...

MCO as a legacy hub? Not as long as NK, G4 and F9 are still in business. G4 does not fly into MCO it fly's into SFB. G4 did at one point fly into MCO for a brief period around 2010-11. Gates 60 - 99 were actually built for a Delta hub or focus city in the early 1990's. Nice set up with commuter gates and an FIS all in one airside. Delta expanded into it for a short period of time. The gulf war, recession, drop in air travel and eventually build up of ATL as a megahub led to it no...
