As I recall, the Condor discussion started after they had an emergency landing at STL. Maybe?

Re: St. Louis Aviation Thread - 2019

I will miss the MD80/88/90 for two main reasons: they are really quiet near the front, and I’m a big fan of the 2x seating on one side. 3x3 seating is no fun when just the two of us travel together. Also always enjoyed the seemingly steeper than normal climb at take off. Could just be my imagination...

Re: St. Louis Aviation Thread - 2019

I still think that long-term, it makes more sense for DL to move to C and for airlines with a smaller presence (like DY, AS, etc.) to move to A. Gives DL a more room to grow, takes some pressure off of A, and it would even give DL the option to renovate the TWA Ambassador's Club space into a Sky Cl...

Re: STL air service discussion - 2018

So that brings me to the other side of the discussion - if you're in STL and you're wanting to head down under, it appears your best bet is to fly through IAH or DFW, at least timewise. Asia - there's MSP or trekking up to ORD or over slightly to DTW. Would still prefer DTW with DL. Going to China ...

Re: STL air service discussion - 2018

For all of you still living in STL, when you go to book trans Atlantic international, what pops up as the most common connection for Delta? Detroit or Atlanta? I see ATL more as well, but mostly due to my preference of DL for transatlantic flights. Of all options, I find that DTW is the best and ea...

Re: TWA L1011 service from PHL-STL

In the late 90’s (1999, maybe?) my first trip to LAX from STL was on a 762, which was my first widebody. I believe that the LAX-STL flight home was on an MD-80.

Re: WW ending STL

I shopped WW a few times to see if we could get it to work with a stopover in Iceland, then on to a planned trip to France next year. I just couldn't make the days/times really work with the choices I had, so it was on to DL for my trip. Feeling very happy with that decision right about now...

Re: STL air service discussion - 2018

Let me know how it is. I could have taken one to AMS but opted for a 330 for the 2 seats together seating. Will do. I too normally like the seating on the 330, but had hoped to upgrade to premium economy on the 359. Since it appears that our ticket class (purchased via river cruise line) doesn’t al...

Re: STL air service discussion - 2018

Depending on when they are they could switch back. I have had my flights switch a couple times before. I like 900s and 700s though. I am a fan of no middle seat, especially when traveling with someone else. I assume you are flying through DTW (possibly MSP)? Yes. One trip is via DTW and the other i...

Re: STL air service discussion - 2018

I have two itineraries booked for travel to Europe via DL next year. All flights in and out of STL were booked with mainline jets (mostly 717s) coming and going, but have recently been changed to regional jets. I’m sure that this may be normal, but it’s a bit disappointing. Anyone know if there is a...

Re: STL air service discussion - 2018

I understand wanting a "real" airline on TATL, but why BA? They offer one of the worst J experiences among global carriers, and aren't anything special in economy either. I'm not sure most of us "want" BA if we had our choice but I think it's the most likely based on the FF base...

Don't get me wrong, I'd love to see STL-LHR, or STL-CDG, but connections, etc. at AMS are so much better IMHO

Agree - great review! Thanks so much for taking the time to do this! I really wanted to be on this flight myself, but it just wasn’t to be.

Will definitely do this trip soon.
