RE: Brazil Issues Official RFI For F-X2 Fighter

I find it odd that the package includes 28 Slammers and 28 Sidewinders - meaning the request if for 28 BVR and 28 WVR/IR missiles. Are they going to arm their 28 Es with one Slammer under one wing and one SW on the other? And the Fs get no missiles? That is a v...

Whatever they do, they beter do it fast. The FAB is seriously outclassed when it comes to front line fighters (even by some much smaller/poorer neighbors).

The iterior fuselage diameter seems to be 767-sized, perhaps a tad narrower (using the humans for scale reference). Some how I thought it had more interior volume. Anybody has the interior volume dimentions and how it compares to a 767-300BCF for example?

Thanks for posting the photos.

You can't say which is best unless you clearly define the scenario objectives and the rules of engagement. Fighter pilots don't just go into a furball for nothing - they are trying to accomplish something. For example, if it is just an air superiority/attrition campaing, then the F22 would just supe...

RE: F35 Fighter Even More Expensive Than Planned

What worries me the most is the F 35 capabilities to scramble a Russian Mig or Sukoi Flanker. Why in the world have the Americans made the plane so dam slow ? I think you are confusing theoretical speed advantages and ignoring stealth and actual combat practical speeds. What is the scenario that you...
