Southwest quickly became the largest airline in COS but is running a lot of empty seats early on. 51.7% full in March, 44.8% full in April. The schedule is being loaded 1 week at a time on consecutive days. It’s not a s*******w, it’s how they’ve planned it with all of the additional revenue sources to monitor as it’s being rolled out. New routes loaded for far: IND/CMH-MIA STL-SRQ/VPS STL-SAV Sunday only also. I think the Sunday only is due to the loading of the schedule. I’m seeing OKC-BNA/DCA both coming back but only showing Sunday right now. I don’t think WN would utilize a DCA slot for Sunday only. Also seeing OKC-MCO loaded.

LGA-OKC was announced pre-pandemic but never got off the ground. Was curious if it would ever fly post-pandemic so happy to see them announce it. When it was originally announced it was YX E175 and I assume will be again. No mention of when it will start though...

And that's exactly why they should add TYS. Adding TYS would certainly help to retain those loyal WN-fliers in Knoxville (if there are any) who drive to Nashville for their flights. Tennessee as a whole seems to be a major market for WN, so I wonder if they would eventually add CHA and TRI as well....

I think the next additions at COS depend on WN’s strategy. Is it to better connect COS to the rest of the network or go after O&D leisure travel? If it’s to better connect the rest of the network, I’d say STL, BNA and HOU. If they’re going after leisure O&D I think you’ll see places like OKC...

So AA just needs COS, and the west coast is pretty well covered all the way through. I can’t think of many places left. I believe PSC is the largest remaining airport of the western states to not have AA service from PHX. AA already serves COS from the east. PSC and BLI are the two big ones missing...

At COS this morning and the WN gates are taking shape. Looks like WN will be a three gate operation starting out with gates 9, 11 and 12. Seems a bit aggressive for a 13 flight operation starting out. Will be beneficial in the summer though when DEN weather diverts show up.
