Wow. Just wow. If Delta hired the 'third party' or decided to subcontract out its business, then it still makes it Delta's business! Own it! If it is indeed a third party to blame, that is between Delta and the third party, not between the passenger and the third party. It's like a mad dash here to ...Jump to post
This nonsense with the max 8 max 8 is getting really stupid. 99% of the public have no idea what kinda airplane they are flying. It’s the news media who is making a big deal about this. Big deal 2 max crashed. Do you know how many 707/272/dc10 and other types of airliners crash for us to enjoy the ...Jump to post

As a US citizen, it is puzzling to me that BA would sell a product called "Afternoon Tea" sans tea. It's even more head scratching that Britain's flagship carrier - for some people the first impression of Britain - would convolute the most British of traditions.Jump to post
They should keep one these (better without hushkits) for demonstration purposes. Would be good to show to the NIMBY's how far we come with the aircraft noise in these days. A Trident with 3 of these engines would do even better! Let take one of them take off and after this a 787 or 350. That would ...Jump to post
I'm laughing at the amount of denial in this thread that Boeing is not in crisis. The bar for that is set quite high by some! Although they are not in direct threat of financial bankruptcy and would probably be bailed out anyhow, it's pretty clear by now the company is in fact morally bankrupt. The...Jump to post
While I always defer to WN for all domestic travel, i will give AS my priority in the near term. Congratulations to the employees!Jump to post
I've been on Anet for close to 20 years now, and I never knew - or saw a thread - about the last two digits being the customer code. Maybe everyone complained for the thread to be closed because "THIS HAS ALREADY BEEN COVERED" and the topic disappeared. I am glad I finally learned this tod...Jump to post
This new United livery is as interim a design as current livery. This is kicking-the-can until something better comes along. Meanwhile, United doesn't have to re-logo everything down to the cocktail napkins.Jump to post
A key sensor had been wrecked, possibly by a bird strike. As soon as they retracted the landing gear, flaps and slats, it began to feed faulty data into the Maneuvering Characteristics Augmentation System (MCAS), designed to prevent stalls. If a bird strike can knock out one of the sensors, couldn'...Jump to post
My home airport is LAX. I think I'm safe for a bit to see 747s. Although, it seems as if more A380s fly there... Anyone have numbers? Lightsaber I stop for every pax 747 flying overhead (I'm mid-city LA), knowing they will soon be a memory. LH748, KL744 & BA744 is all I see now. Haven't seen a ...Jump to post

Those men were big - some clearly drunk. The FA's couldn't have done anything successful with physical restraint of the offenders.
Having traveled on Scoot several times, the singular lasting impression I have of the FA's is that they are nothing but unfriendly trash collectors.
I don't see a single lead-in line in this photo which means they had to have been way off the planned lead-in line. It appears it was supposed to be going into F28. Google Maps: https://goo.gl/maps/Nop5oqCRwak Looks like there's an F28L and an F-28R. The F28L line looks incredibly close to the buil...Jump to post
With the SP's gone, how has Iran Air adjusted it's network and long haul fleet? I see that past SP destinations like Bangkok, Tokyo, Caracas are no longer offered. Is that a result of the SP retirements alongside of the inability to secure new Boeing, Airbus aircraft?Jump to post
Atrocious. This livery is just begging for attention without having earned it. The previous livery was attractive and balanced.Jump to post
A quick search for seats in mid-Oct in Premium Economy on EWR-SIN is $1,349/rt. That, to me, seems like a great deal for travel on a new aircraft, a great airline, all-premium configuration with comparatively few passengers.Jump to post
This proposal is to capture the Chinese tourists. Eastern Europe has not reaped the benefits/ onslaught of Chinese tourism money currently being spread through Western Europe.Jump to post
Just out of curiosity, how exactly does preventing non-ticketed pax from accessing the airside make things any safer? It wouldn’t have done a thing to stop the events of 9/11. What exactly was the reasoning behind this move? It just makes the TSA screening that much more busy and stressful. Unneces...Jump to post
I just want to ask because I wasn't old enough when 9/11 happened... what was it like photographing airliners back then? I've heard of stories where spotting planes was very easy and hassle-free at most airports. Quite a few even had observation decks or dedicated areas to watch planes. Then 9/11 h...Jump to post
Beautiful livery! And yes, I definitely get a Braniff feel.
Regaring the ANA Couch section in the rear of the lower deck: Is this "couch" (comprising 4 seats) intended for only one person? Is the pricing less than a J-class seat? I assume the service would be standard economy.
Thai really retired their 2x 734's? I just flew one in June BKK-USM. It was an incredible flight as there were maybe 30 people on board. The interior was a flashback to 1978 and in perfect order. Seat pitch and legroom was remarkable, and superior to what Economy Plus is now.Jump to post
Re: Damage to the bridge
It's going to be MONTHS if not a year+ to get that bridge fixed prior to the resumption of vehicular and train service.
Is there a separate switch for the tail illumination lights (managed by the cockpit), or are they on the same circuit as the other navigation lights? I mean, you wouldn't see the tail illumination int the daytime, but I can't imagine there's a "turn on tail illumination lights" in the pre-...Jump to post
I did not see any overwing slides deployed. Is that a design feature of the MD-90 and are you expected to drop off the rear of the wing? If that is the case, then I can see why passengers are huddled atop the wing.Jump to post
Geez. Look at everyone already making their determinations on a segment that hasn't even aired. Just wait until Sunday, watch, then make your predertermined comments. What will be the shorthand designation for the 787-10?
781? That doesn't look or sound appropriate.

I regularly see the Raytheon 727 in/ out of LAX. The silhouette is damn striking compared with anything else in the sky. Probably the best LAX spotting moment currently.Jump to post
Flew UA 777 EWR-LAX last week. Was really stoked to finally fly transcon widebody again (the last time being Delta 762 ATL-ONT in 1983).
Well, was happy until sitting on the tarmac for 4 hours due to frozen lavatories. 4 stinking hours. No AVOD, no free WiFi, no free drinks. No recompense whatsoever.
I went to the Flight Path Museum event with N666US yesterday. Great turnout and the crew participating in the event were all wonderful. Captain Allen spoke for hours, answered every question and provided interesting stories and anecdotes. Visitors got to visit every nook and cranny of that bird. The...Jump to post
Is the Thomas Cook a330/340 toilets in Y? I would view the inclusion of a downstairs toilet to be a passenger-first amenity, and would value such an airline higher, particularly if it was offered in Y. I would pay more to be on such an aircraft/ airline. I find the passenger cabin to be much happier...Jump to post
