An update on running the sim on my Mac Mini via Bootcamp. The sim definitely runs, and I can fly on the most basic settings adequately, but as others guessed: it’s a choppy experience. I’ll definitely be looking to build a PC to run it specifically. Thanks all for the input.Jump to post
I appreciate your response, thank you. I'll give it a go and see how it works out. I'd be interested to hear what kind of price point you think a PC should be in order for the sim to play well? I'm so deep in the Apple ecosystem that this is a brave new world indeed! Anyone good at translating syste...Jump to post
Anyone good at translating system equivalency between PC and Mac? I'm running a Mac Mini with Windows 10 through Bootcamp. I'm trying to learn where my system fits with the requirements. These are my specs: I can't imagine that equivalency of hardware specs matters here, since you'd be running the ...Jump to post

Here's a great piece on why the Australian government isn't racing to bail out Virgin Australia before this period of administration: https://www.smh.com.au/politics/federal ... 54ljq.htmlJump to post
News release here: https://newsroom.virginaustralia.com/release/virgin-australia-enters-voluntary-administration Velocity Frequent Flyer is not in administration. However they've ceased redemptions for four weeks, although I wouldn't put too much faith in that time period. There's been a run on peo...Jump to post

What is tough exactly at the moment in Australia ? I've read about the new PM in the guardian, a liberal being against gays marrying, how strange. Make that a capital "L", Liberal is the name of the political party, it differs from the casual American political definition. So clearly noth...Jump to post
https://cdn.newsapi.com.au/image/v1/b5ab13759646cc481f933832809618dd?width=1024 Australia looks like it will get its 8th Prime Minister in 11 years tomorrow. A leader hasn't completed a term in office without being rolled since the election of Prime Minister John Howard in 2004. For those playing a...Jump to post
Hello mods and a.net pals, Just on the Seatac crash I wonder if it might be a good idea to pin something to the thread to help direct people to crisis support and suicide prevention services in various countries? How terribly, terribly sad.
A note of caution to other posters that we should continue to discuss this with sensitivity.
I walked straight up to a check in agent, this is Australia after all, so nothing so advanced as automatic check in machines for international travellers….. Sorry? Weird Australian slur aside, Virgin Australia is truly atrocious. Low-cost trash with delusions of premium, I had one good flight with ...Jump to post
I know a couple of people who have. They had absolutely no problems. Ah well, that's that problem solved. *dusts off hands* Honestly, you don't know what you're talking about. Cloistering yourself in a news-less 'safe space' sounds pretty triggered to me, pal.
There are many powerful people who are counting on people like you switching off and disengaging from current events. Don't give them the satisfaction.
Meh, my two cents.

How lovely for them.
If, however, my boyfriend ever tried to pull a stunt like this I would bolt for the nearest emergency exit.
A public proposal places an extreme amount of pressure on the proposee. I don't think it's fair.

Heya! I really really don't want to start a discussion about the condemnation of homosexuals by the bible. Lots of LGBTQI people out there, like myself, are also christian (and indeed are of many different faiths). I also love hearing stories about how the church embraces LGBTQI people, in the spiri...Jump to post

I was wondering, what clothing brands are popular with gay men? Very interesting! Seems like if you insulate yourself by bringing your own IFE, and perhaps some decent gourmet food from the airport you can make the most of the flight yourself. I scored a pretty amazing deal (seems to be a theme here) between SYD and JFK in December. We shall see what happens. Th...Jump to post

Yeah, the Sydney Mardi Gras may have its occasional moments of men and women in skimpy outfits, but nobody is naked, nobody is riding around on a giant phallus. Of course, the opposite is true as well: Nowadays many homosexual (and often times heterosexual) people are critical of if not downright hostile to gays who don't conform to as many gay stereotypes as possible, i.e. "leaving a trail of glitter" as Einsteinboricua so charmingly put it. I get that. I worked with a guy that was gay and had no idea he was gay until about 2 weeks in, and that was with his partner working in the same office. Would never have known from his behaviour.
