The F/A could have done a reste of the system, but then it would have shut off the whole system of every pax on board, interrupting their movies...without a guaranteed result. Was the flight full? RE: Simpson's Flight To Japan?

Swissair/Crossair had a programme for same day Saturday and Sunday trips... you would just show up at the ticket desk at a given time and for 50 francs (I think), the airline would assign you a flight... or rather a rotation as you would come back on the same aircraft.
