If this is indeed a replacement flights, its an awful idea. VCP is out in the boonies and a solid two hours from GRU. A real yield killer. It would be better off as an additional flight given that IAH is UA's primary gateway to Latin America. Even then I dont think its a good idea. Would you happen...

All of the US3 fly lots of seasonal routes. It's the smart thing to do, because people mostly want to travel to these destinations during certain peak times of year, and fleet resources are limited. AA, UA, and DL all make significant cuts to their transatlantic networks during the Northern winter....

Its known CLT is gate constrained but are working on adding additional gates. Do you think AA would like to build CLT to ATL level of flights( 1000+ plus flights)? Duplicating a lot of the flows DL does thru ATL? Or would they reserve that for DFW which isn't that far behind ATL as far as flights go?

Delta needs to figure out how to make Hong Kong work for them, of the hubs away from the west coast DTW seems as the best. When NW did it they flew a 747, today Delta would use a smaller airplane so why couldn't an A350-900 work ? Delta should be able to make it work if they can sell 250 seat daily...
