I think the current cooperation arrangement covers all those cases? CX and NZ are already code-sharing every flight between AKL and HKG, the alliance benefits/mile accumulation depend on from which airline they book the ticket. Just seen on the Air NZ travel alerts page that NZ won't be flying the HKG route from early next year. It's to do with people trying to buy duty free without leaving the country. There are signs posted everywhere (including as you try to enter the security queue) about how illegal it is to enter the restricted area with no intention of flying. I've found that at LHR if you ask in the lounge they know and will tell you the gate well before it's released on the screen. They've been able to tell me at most of the lounges I've been in across all 4 terminals.

I went to McLaren a couple of years ago and was speaking to one of the mechanics about this. He said all the transport is very regulated down to who gets off the plane first. Supposedly the cargo is loaded so that the current constructors champion gets unloaded first and second is next etc.

Its my understanding that the 3d maps are created from mixture of photos taken at all 4 angles. If the plane is only there for one of the photos then it is taken out. It's the reason you don't see many cars driving on the road or people in places. Ironically if you look at heathrow terminal 3 there ...

I think its a part of certification process for all airliners to prove that they can operate normally even after a lightning strike.
