Re: Airport Departure Gate Assignment

I've found that at LHR if you ask in the lounge they know and will tell you the gate well before it's released on the screen. They've been able to tell me at most of the lounges I've been in across all 4 terminals.

I went to McLaren a couple of years ago and was speaking to one of the mechanics about this. He said all the transport is very regulated down to who gets off the plane first. Supposedly the cargo is loaded so that the current constructors champion gets unloaded first and second is next etc.

Re: Is Google photoshopping planes out of maps?

Its my understanding that the 3d maps are created from mixture of photos taken at all 4 angles. If the plane is only there for one of the photos then it is taken out. It's the reason you don't see many cars driving on the road or people in places. Ironically if you look at heathrow terminal 3 there ...

First, Aer Lingus is not a OW member. T2 is the only other Terminal (5 is the other one) capable of handling domestic and CTA flights. It also houses FlyBE due to that very same reason. When T1 was closed, it was the only place Aerlingus could go. T5 systems could only handle BA flights and EI was ...

It's to do with how Google creates the 3D maps. The 3d buildings are a merger of images from a plane flying over from all 4 angles. It correlates 4 points with the same image. If something is not in all 4 angles then it assumes it is not there and doesn't render it. It is why you rarely see cars dri...
