Some scanners do cover the upper portions of the band, but unless you've got a key on your keyboard to convert it to AM mode, the audio will be completely distorted. In the past, it was for aircraft which were "capable" of gross take-off weights of 300,000 pounds or more regardless of whether they'd weigh that much during any phase of the flight. I don't know what the specific rules are now, however.

The picture is terrific, however when I first saw it, the photo just doesn't look genuine. For a day that was cloudy & murky, there sure is a lot of blue sky in the background. When something seems too good to be true, it usually isn't.
