Re: REPORT: American to drop routes to "two dozen" small/medium sized cities with no new aid

I'd add MFR, EUG and RDM to this list. With the new codeshare with AS and these all being 850+ mile RJ routes to PHX, I don't see them sticking around when they can just let them feed into SEA/PDX. I'd also add STS to the list (similar reasons). CRP - I don't see them losing their only link to Dall...

Re: Austin Texas Aviation Thread - 2020

On a different, but AUS-related topic: I found an old NWA timetable from 8 Feb 1989. Living in AUS now, I was shocked to discover an almost-daily (X6, if I recall...or perhaps X7) departure to SAT, a trip of only 70 miles and 0:35 according to the timetable. A friend who grew up in AUS was surprise...

Didn't VivaAerobus try to make a go of it in San Antonio back in 2015 only to pull out in 18 months?

Re: Spirit Airlines Network Thread - 2020

My bet on the new cities for 2020 is: MKE, STL, MEM, SAT, SLC, CHS, SAV, ROC, and FNT. I think SAT is tough, because NK is building a decent operation out of AUS that many ULCC travelers don't mind driving up to. AUS has 13 destinations served by NK and all but 12 are at least daily and CUN is 4x w...
