Story about how smaller communities are being hit hard. For example, San Luis Obispo saw 2 of its 4 SFO flights canceled on Monday and 3 of 4 inbounds canceled on Tuesday. https://www.sanluisobispo.com/news/local/article234931072.html When things go bad, the express partner airports really get hit ...Jump to post
Um, no. AA wanted a slot at HND to operate LAS-HND. They did not get it. They asked for all. They got two out of 3. AA asked for 4 Haneda slots, with LAS being their lowest priority. As Nevada resident, it was all smoke and mirrors. They got a few nice supporting letters from celebrities, but the r...Jump to post
So the premise is that AA will be happy with it’s 2 just acquired HND slots and will dump it’s remaining Japan flying? I don’t see it. It would shrink AA significantly with virtually zero opportunity for growth for many years. NRT is a vestige of years past. Given the choice, high yield is moving aw...Jump to post
Sure, fire the entire board and get a new CEO. Not sure it really changes things. You'll just get a new bunch of political appointees with their loyalties and special interest. Not exactly a professional bunch of aviation or business experienced folks.Jump to post
One of the selling points for the M100 is that its even closer to mainline cabin experience with larger bins, higher standing room, and more floor space for flexible cabin and galley layouts than the E175-E2, hence the SpaceJet monkier. Also the baseline M100 will fit within todays U.S scope handcuf...Jump to post
Seems "suspension" might be longer than initially hinted at. "Hopefully someday we'll be able to go back," says United CFO Gerry Laderman on Hong Kong-Chicago and Hong Kong-Guam. But going back would require a significant change in the demand environment, he adds at the Cowen inv...Jump to post
What are odds one of the Australia rights goes to Virgin Australia?
QF already has a HND service. Are they really entitled to both additional new frequencies?
Whats more is that the city isn't pushing the airlines or trying to get others to come to start new service into SNA. When you look at ONT or BUR for example they are always trying to get new airlines or service to somewhere. It seems like SNA airport doesn't care at all. It would be nice to have a...Jump to post
Southwest greatly benefited by the system at SNA for ages picking up unwanted slots.
Now that other operators want to grow its logical SWA will lose access to the supplemental slots which were never permanent anyhow.
Suppose recent growth at nearby LGB can help offset things to some degree.

After a spectacular Q1 earnings seems they must have had a strong Q2 and 3 as well from the confidence of the CEO. He makes one interesting point that the market is not quite used to analyzing charter operators and that SY cant be directly compared to typical LCC as its model is different. Good luck...Jump to post
AV in crisis again, sigh! At this point AV should focus on their main strength, the Colombian market. Fly their most profitable routes in North America, South America, Europe and domestic routes. Per reporter Danny Lee at the SCMP, HKG airport traffic fell 11% between August 1-21st. Even worse per HK Tourism officials, visitor bookings are running 50% down y/y for late August period! Headed for economic disaster for airlines, hotels and those that rely on visitor spending. https://twitter.co...Jump to post

Its not like the curfew is a secret. Its up to the airlines to comply, and by the time they get to the stage of lawsuit its clear they essentially don't care and wilfully are ignoring the ordinance (aka JetBlue) Airlines should strictly follow the laws and for any late flights be sure to let the Pas...Jump to post

Seems United is very busy this year supporting the applicants with the proposed service.
Some more interesting insight from the meeting. Trump was hardly impressed by the US3 arguments, while others such as FedEx were present also argued in support of QR.
