Interestingly the largest seating capacity single aisle airliners in service are the 2 TCX B757-300s. I believe all the other -300s in service have slightly less seating than the 281 that are fitted in G-JMAA and G-JMAB. Once managed a flight with 300 SOB once crew and infants were taken into consid...
Jump to postProposed reduction of 3 x 320 and 1 x 767. We cant figure out the maths either regarding the 100 aircrew. Looks more like there will be a few redundancies but the figure of 100 aircrew is probably being used to scare us into conceding some of our hard won Ts & Cs. And at the same time this is happen...

Jump to postThe airline will almost certainly remain Thomas Cook. The parent company that results from the merger is to be named Thomas Cook Group & although it is written as a "merger" the senior partner will be TCX.

Saw the advert in The Times a few days ago aswell. Quite funny really, problem is I pretty much agree with the adverts sentiments, not those tree hugging hippies that commissioned it!
Cheers.
Probably a big fat jetstream between the northerly & southerly tracks.

EMA is now a 757 base. Long term plan is to can the 320's & be all boeing shorthaul & 330 longhaul till we decide on our future fleet plans.

SOP in my airline is to keep a hand on the speedbrakes whenever they are deployed in flight, the thinking being you are less likely to inadvertantly leave them up if your hand is resting on them!

RB-211 between approx 1.5 - 2.2 tonnes/hour depending on aircraft weight, cruise speed etc.

Ta! Was going to have a sulk then

Jump to postMEL, below 313kts below 8000ft the windows are designed to withstand an impact from a bird. Talking about this at work yesterday did get us wondering, in the 757 at least some of the flightdeck O2 bottles on our fleet actually have an on/off tap located near the FOs right knee. Not very safe in our opinion. Perhaps if the 737 has similar this was off & the crew neglected to check their O2 ...
Jump to postI don`t think that there are many pilots that would want video recording on the flight-deck. Jump to postA little bit of food for thought for those criticising Airbus for carrying out the two deck evacs seperately: when Boeing certified the 777-300 they did not carry out a full evac, just certified the evacuation safety of the stretch version of this jet which adds about 100 seats and two additional ex...
