Re: Delta transitions BOS to Hub status, names SJC, BNA, and AUS as new focus cities

Because they are primarily destinations. Focus Cities are markets where the Delta wants to be the premier business airline. The types of customers that Delta is targeting live in places like AUS, BNA, SJC, BOS, NYC, LAX, SEA, ATL but they travel to LAS, TPA, MCO and MSY. Does that make sense? I don...

Re: Delta transitions BOS to Hub status, names SJC, BNA, and AUS as new focus cities

Other airports that should be considered Delta focus cities by having Nashville service as the minimum: LAS: DL has TWICE as much service there as they do in BNA TPA: still twice as much as BNA MCO: THREE times as much service as BNA (and they have more non-hub destinations as they do hub flights. ...

Re: Delta transitions BOS to Hub status, names SJC, BNA, and AUS as new focus cities

To me it seems like Delta's strategy is to build a point-to-point business traveler network - one that is distinct from its traditional hub-and spoke network. Consider having non-stop service between all of LAX, SJC, SEA, AUS, BNA, RDU, LGA/JFK, BOS My guess is that for many business travelers in th...

Re: WN Hawaii from DAL & HOU?

Now that is an interesting option. I don't think its a big deal for DEN/PHX/ELP/ABQ passengers to backtrack on eastbound, i.e. DEN passenger goes non-stop westbound, one-stop through DAL eastbound. DAL passenger goes though DEN westbound, non-stop eastbound. Plus the eastbound pax could catch fligh...

Re: WN Hawaii from DAL & HOU?

From DAL, HOU, AUS what about non-stop eastbound and 1-stop westbound (e.g. at DEN, PHX or even ELP, ABQ)? Good plane utilization would help in hopefully making this profitable. Re: Austin Texas Thread - 2018

So the original parking lot would be razed and a new terminal built in its place. What would be interesting is who gets what gate space on the new concourse. Does Delta want the new concourse gates or more gates on the concourse. given new skyclub will be on east end of old concourse, i would presu...

Re: Southwest Finally Announces Intentions to Serve Hawaii

Or to spread it out a bit more DAL-DEN-HNL-DAL-DEN-HNL..... HOU-ABQ-HNL-HOU-ABQ-HNL..... AUS-ELP-HNL-AUS-ELP-HNL..... Each of the three planes has ~5 hours in HNL, during which could they do HNL-OGG-HNL, HNL-KOA-HNL, HNL-LIH-HNL to get mainland passengers to other destinations and service some hawai...

Re: Southwest Finally Announces Intentions to Serve Hawaii

What about DAL/HOU/AUS to HNL? Could 737MAX7 make it? Or maybe non-stop eastbound, one stop westbound i.e. DAL-ELP-HNL-DAL-ELP-HNL - etc HOU-ELP-HNL-HOU-ELP-HNL. AUS-ELP-HNL-AUS-ELP-HNL. Sample flight times DAL-ELP: 9CST-10MST ELP-HNL: 10:30MST-2HST HNL-DAL: 7HST- 8:30CST ELP passengers have to bac...

[quote="ADrum23" connect it to the current terminal via an underground people mover and it would be more than adequate for the foreseeable future IMO.[/quote] Wouldn't this be problematic in terms of traffic, i.e. could the current terminal arrival/departure area handle road traffic for 70...

Re: Northeast Winter Storm 1/4 Thread

AZ608 FCO-JFK just landed at BOS. All remaining flights tonight from BOS to the D.C. area are cancelled. I wonder why since BWI, DCA, and IAD all seem to be ok. I was on the AZ608 diversion to BOS. The aircraft is on way back to FCO as AZ8014: https://flightaware.com/live/flight/AZA8014/history/201...
