Re: Dallas/Fort Worth Aviation Thread (DFW/DAL) - 2019

Also they seemed to try to concentrate westbound flights to these B gates since, in general, westbound flights depart from the runways on the west side of the field. Judging by the flights departing from the newly re-mainlined gates in B (SFO, SEA, SAN, SMF, LAS are what I recall seeing out of thos...

Line for customer service tonight at Terminal D. Mind you end of the line, as shown, is at D18 and next to the new Flying Saucer and continues for another 200 yards past Duty Free and the lounges to the customer service counter at D24. https://uploads.tapatalk-cdn.com/20190610/a6c6a0acc92eaaaeb31a50...

Re: Dallas/Fort Worth Aviation Thread (DFW/DAL) - 2019

Ceilings are low, but they did a nice job freshening it up with what they could do. It will serve its purpose well, getting 100 regional jet flights in and out every day. Better than boarding via airstairs! Ceilings have always been low unfortunately. Found some old pictures from years ago showing ...

Pictures from earlier today before the first flight to Moline. Only thing open currently is a CNBC convenience store and Dickey's BBQ. Everything else including a Whataburger and an Admiral's Lounge will come online in the coming weeks. https://uploads.tapatalk-cdn.com/20190503/1ce739ef713aec67d3b82...

This sucks hard, I was all pumped and excited to take the inaugural 7:00 AM departure from DFW-LGA next Thursday, but looks like I’ll have to fly my frustrations out on the archaic Mad Dogs.

Re: QF A380 at DXB 27 October - Diversion?

Anybody can tell me an easy way to Post a photo here and I’ll post one I got from My phone. Doesn’t look any different, and it’s parked far from the hangars so doesn’t seem to be maintenance related. Upload the picture to Imgur and link it here. Curious to see the picture. VH-OQB most likely got re...

You saw VH-OQB coming out of maintenance where she’s been since October 10. She just took off and is headed back to SYD.

Re: American Airlines FRA-DFW-IAH

I could be wrong but I find it rare when someone says their connection experience in DFW to be good or pleasant! I personally hate connecting in DFW. But at least it's well laid out and easy to navigate thanks to the tram. Just hate how long it takes to get across sometimes. (And it's only going to...

Ahhh I see it now. Thanks for the clarification! I'm taking the airfield tour on the 13th and I'm hoping to gain some more insight on all the projects going on at DFW I’d like to take a tour! How does one go about doing that? The airport posted this about 2 weeks ago https://www.eventbrite.com/e/a-...

Re: DFW 2018 Developments

So to recap the AA expansion at DFW: AA/Eagle taking over E satellite -- I assume they're keeping the LUS gates? I've also seen talk of a stinger or expansion off the south end of D - How many gates is this and will it be all AA? What happened to the old rumors of a south stinger in B to match the ...

Interesting sight I saw earlier. Two Qantas A380s and a parked Emirates 777-300ER. Wonder what's up with the parked birds? The parked bird is the yesterday (7/15) QF8 aircraft. Appears to have been delayed to tonight. DFW ESTIMATED TIME OF DEPARTURE 2350 ☨1 ESTIMATED TIME OF ARRIVAL 0745 ☨1 SYD The...

Yes, they began flying the A380 in October 2014 and downgauged back to the 777W in February 2016.

Re: Is ATL About To Fall Relative To Other Megahubs?

I'm probably wrong, but I just feel like DFW could and should be even bigger than it is, and it's frustrating seeing it grow more slowly than other large hub airports. Maybe things will change here soon with AA going to 900 flights and perhaps some more upgauging. What about AA going to 900+ flight...

Interesting blurb on AWIN (AvWeek): Delta Air Lines plans to issue a request for proposals (RFP) for new longhaul aircraft that will replace all of the airline’s Boeing 747-400s and a significant part of the 767-300ER fleets. The RFP will go out before the end of the month and Delta could decide be...

Re: DFW Terminal E Satelite for AA & More Intl out of B

FORGOt about that. So, in all actuality, a C-E connector isnt really worth building, and the E Satellite will give them some much needed wiggle room during the eventual transition from C to F. They should consider building the connector if they plan to stay in the satellite long term. Earlier today...

TRIP was the major renovation project of the original terminals at DFW which includes Terminal A,B,C, and E Terminal C was not renovated as a result of cost overruns. Re: DFW Terminal E Satelite for AA & More Intl out of B

A few things at play here... - Expect a good deal of international growth in the next two years. This terminal shuffling helps with much needed gate space in D and B. - Terminal E, a quick connection to both C and A, via Skylink. Not sure why many act like E satellite is on the other end of the wor...

man, that would be a PITA for connections to go from the Satellite at E all the way to another connecting flight at one of the other terminals. Anyone know what's up with QF7? It departed Sydney Sunday and looks like it's still stuck at IAH. The first question should be why it diverted to IAH ? After that you could be looking at crewing issues, or it's gone tech in IAH. There was some showers and low visibility/clouds throughout the day he...

Re: DFW 2018 Developments

Since it was overlooked above, I'll ask again. Why aren't either KLM or Air France at DFW? Could neither make a DFW-CDG or DFW-AMS route work, even only a summer seasonal? Well AF served DFW briefly in 2001 starting in May, but as you know 9/11 happened and they subsequently pulled out a few months...

Re: DFW 2018 Developments

Does anybody know why there was an EK A380 parked on the ramp of Terminal D, last night (1/5)? It was clearly visible from the terminal and Skylink but I wasn't able to see a tail number due to the dark. But just curious why it was there since I thought EK phased them out of the route.
