I am lost reading all the posts. Can someone tell me why EK is not happy with the A339 ? Or why the A339 cannot fit in EK's fleet?Jump to post
Hifly is looking to add more A380s once they are available.

Reuters is more on the engine side, Bloomberg on the fleet side: The Gulf carrier is mulling the fleet profile as part of a wider study begun in February after it decided that the A380 could no longer remain the lynch-pin of operations with Airbus reluctant to invest in the slow-selling model. Emirates CEO, Sir Tim Clark has stated that the airline won't take delivery of new aircraft unless Rolls Royce and GE deliver the engines that they have promised. EK/FZ need smaller short-haul planes (and WB planes) that can deliver higher LF at more economic fuel burn..QR and EY already have A320s in the 130-150 category..The A220-300 would be an excellent such plane to expand profitably its network..Air Baltic flies the plane on a 7h flight RIX-AUH in a 14...Jump to post
Did this happen at DXB maintenance or AUH maintenance ? EK have been sending B777s and A380s to AUH for maintenance.Jump to post
After engaging in formal talks with several airlines, Airbus will be announcing the launch of the A350-1000ULR. The A350-1000ULR is poised to compete head to head with the upcoming B777X. What nation prohibited the A380? GF Jordan, Turkey and Egypt is what I read that prohibit A380 from EK but I suspect many more. As a lot have changed since the order announcement back in 2013 and the changing EK strategy, I think we might see Emirates ordering additional B777Xs beside the B787, if they do agree on a suitable delivery schedule.
From Airbus side, I feel that EK will order more A339s and cancel the A350s.
The A330NEO/A350/B787 will do the same job as the A330s before they have left the fleet, expansion and additional frequencies. Plus replacement of older B777s.Jump to post
What is happening now between EK and Boeing : EY is trying to get out of the 777-X. EK finds the new A330N/A350/787 trio appealing. Boeing wants to keep EK on the 777-X track so they are going to have to make concession or EK can choose something else. Same with Airbus, they have the opportunity to...Jump to post
The problem I see for EK is the premium seating more than just number of seats. There is a big difference in F and J seats between the 777 and the A380. Add in the more spacious and luxurious seats in the A380 and unless you are downgrading your whole fleet with the seats on offer in J if they do g...Jump to post

I once requested from the cabin crew to ask someone sitting my assigned seat which i paid for because of the extra legroom. The woman that was sitting in my seat said to me 'its just a seat'.
That was onboard Air Arabia.
The latest poll results:
TPA - 47%
ORD - 20%
SEA - 17%
DFW - 16%
Here is my thought:
If they need aircraft within 2-3 years, the A330-900 is there.
