Re: US F15 intercepting Iran's Mahan Air A300 resulted in several injuries

A correct tcas response is a measured climb, descent, or stay level. Not a maneuver that will cause damage or high “g”. My understanding is that intercepting a/c turn off transponders as they near.

Re: UA planning layoffs but not AA, DL etc..?

Don’t forget those senior pilots at AA that took early out. The a/c they flew are now gone or parked for a year or more. No training to replace them, or train them to switch a/c ,pay them 2/3 instead of full hours to sit. My guess still furloughs 4th quarter. But less and importantly less training.

Re: AA hands out masks. B6 requires them.

It could be that nyc flights are fairly full because of the drastic reductions out the 3 airports.

Right now you’re not going to be next to anybody, probably no one in the front and back row.

Re: Best airline call signs

Super is a required atc add on telling the controller an a/c is above a certain certified weight for spacing purposes.
Like heavy for 747,767,a340 etc. every aircraft has to use it.

Re: Anyone ever flown rare types?

Regarding the ST-27 I only flew as copilot, we wore David Clark headsets. A fun a/c to fly. Interesting it had yoke operated air brakes ,differential braking with rudder input.

Re: Air Canada and Air Canada Rouge Boeing 767s

Just wondering, if price is the problem could used sets from retiring aircraft i.e. AA be used or is it the labor strengthening the wing the expensive part?
