COVID-19 is the new nightmare within the MAX nightmare. Poor booking velocity in many parts of the world leading to great uncertainty for the near future. How do you plan for an imminent return of the MAX? Must be a total mess for network planners.

I also noticed it's not allowed to take photos whilst walking on the ramp to board an aircraft in Australia & NZ. Anyone know why?

At the moment for VA, it is probably easier to go through the short list of money-making markets for them. Long haul is not on that list.

ZRH would be another DEN route I'd love to see. I know ill get flamed for this so I'll admit to this being a wet dream route, DEN/IAH-AKL. I think NZ have IAH-AKL covered, don’t they have a JV with UA? SFO-BNE? Perhaps seasonally? I wouldn't see SFOBNE especially with the new QF SFO + ORD services.

As I have stated on a few occasions VA really needs to consolidate both the A332 and 77W fleet into one type, I think the 789 would be the best solution due to its size plus a smaller frame would allow both BNE and MEL to go daily plus give them some flexibility when it comes to times that aircraft...

Please enlighten me on VA’s BNE/MEL/SYD-LAX. VA only have 5x 77Ws which are all deployed to LAX. A few weeks ago, a plane went belly up in LAX resulting in some delays and pax repro on DL. Basically, a fleet of 5 frames with no other equipment to cover for it can make for some interesting constraint...

I was recently looking at Qatar's DOH-AKL flight on flightradar24 and wondered what alternates they use in New Zealand?

Wouldn't WLG (+298miles) & CHC (+463miles) add a lot of fuel to carry for 16 hours?

Finnair's aim of connecting Europe to Asia goes way back. HEL is perfectly positioned for such connectivity. We're often talking less than 1.1 routing factor versus a nonstop flight from places in Europe to Asia.
