If Wesfarmers do end up buying into VA, it would be unlikely that they would move the HQ to Perth. If you look at their retail businesses as an example, they are all largely run out of Melbourne, especially the former Coles businesses, so they can access a wider pool of talent than if the HQ was mo...Jump to post
COVID-19 is the new nightmare within the MAX nightmare. Poor booking velocity in many parts of the world leading to great uncertainty for the near future. How do you plan for an imminent return of the MAX? Must be a total mess for network planners.Jump to post

I think it’s incredible that Brisbane can sustain daily nonstop to Vangroovy. I mean Sydney and Melbourne, sure, they are actually big cities, “world cities” if you like. (Well Sydney for sure, and Melbourne is still a big deal.) BRISBANE really is a big country town. Flights to Bali, Singapore, Ne...Jump to post

Just like when he said earlier this year the MAX would be back in the air by June/July.Jump to post
Nice. So many new routes added between USA/Canada-NZ/AUS in recent years. Looking forward to seeing LAXCHC results.Jump to post

With AAs configuration they can’t do flights to Australia out of DFW. What? Do you have a source for this? Sounds like nonsense to me I won't argue the performance, but with 49 more seats on AA birds that almost means at least 5 extra ton that you carry (provided you can sell) and this will have an...Jump to post

When will QF announce more 787 routes such as MEL-DFW and BNE-DFW There should be 1 maybe 2 more routes to be announced next year for the last 2 I think unassigned 789s currently on order You are technically correct, but the most accurate answer to the question asked (MEL/BNE-DFW) is that they will...Jump to post

Air Canada VP of Global Sales and Alliances John MacLeod to take over Merren McArthur's position as VA Chief Commercial Officer effective 08OCT19. That is very interesting. Does that mean closer relationship between VA and AC then? I really hope the Alliances strategy from Air Canada can be brought...Jump to post
Borghetti made a real mess of this one. He was focused for way way way too long on how to beat Qantas, rather than how to keep his own airline profitable. Then add in that crazy ownership structure that has so many conflicting interests its not funny... all of which had one objective, to create a f...Jump to post

At the moment for VA, it is probably easier to go through the short list of money-making markets for them. Long haul is not on that list.
ZRH would be another DEN route I'd love to see. I know ill get flamed for this so I'll admit to this being a wet dream route, DEN/IAH-AKL. I think NZ have IAH-AKL covered, don’t they have a JV with UA? SFO-BNE? Perhaps seasonally? I wouldn't see SFOBNE especially with the new QF SFO + ORD services.Jump to post
As I have stated on a few occasions VA really needs to consolidate both the A332 and 77W fleet into one type, I think the 789 would be the best solution due to its size plus a smaller frame would allow both BNE and MEL to go daily plus give them some flexibility when it comes to times that aircraft...Jump to post
Please enlighten me on VA’s BNE/MEL/SYD-LAX. VA only have 5x 77Ws which are all deployed to LAX. A few weeks ago, a plane went belly up in LAX resulting in some delays and pax repro on DL. Basically, a fleet of 5 frames with no other equipment to cover for it can make for some interesting constraint...Jump to post

Can someone sum up all what has happened. I can go thru the thread and try to piece it all together but if I could get a summary that would be great. Parts I am trying to figure out: What North American airports are they still going to have service to next summer? How many planes will they have lef...Jump to post

In terms of range, PF will take delivery of 7M9s equipped with auxiliary tanks.
My question is will they encounter MTOW issues?

Wonder if QR would use this for a PY product introduction as well? The article quotes AAB specifically saying there will be no PY product Also that H.E.
