Continental took delivery of a small number of 737-924 Non-Er airframes They were known for their performance limitations Are these still in the United fleet and operational ? Yes they are still in the fleet and operational. they are from number Nxx901 - Nxx912 from Nxx913 and on they're ER'sJump to post
UA has N774UA (#2) N771UA (#3) N773UA (#4) N772UA (#5) and of course, N777UA, which is lucky hull #7! Boeing offered UA 777 #1 but they declined. :banghead: She ended up with CX as B-HNL in 2000. She flew for CX a total of 20,519 flights for a total of 49,687 hours. B-HNL was taken out of service by...Jump to post
The A340-600 is a beast of a plane. I hope Belgium Air and Hi-fly will check the retiring LH ones out and maybe buy a few each.Jump to post
I just saw a video in YouTube of a BA DC10 landing and later on, taking off from PHX. it was in full Landor BA colours too. The video is from 1997. Don't know how many more they had but I just saw proof that at least there was one. So funny that I left this thread and next up I see this video. I was...Jump to post
Id love to see my namesake fly with the new engines but I don't see how it will replace the 757. Best of luck to B and hope I find my answers in the next couple of years. The 767 must be retired by 2028 so more life to an old warrior sounds interesting. I'm sure we may also see an A360 on it's way.Jump to post
The DC 8 was N8013U. The 13th DC 8 on UA's fleet.
Boeing has to implement tried and true 787 technology on It's future 737 and 757 replacements and not depend on software for plane control (no MCA'S) in order to regain a share of the market. The 737 is done and must be replaced. So is the 757.Jump to post
As for the 737, it's time to replace it.Jump to post
For a 767 replacement we already have the 787. The airlines want a new 757 so build them a new 757 using the technology already developed for the 787, or in other words, a narrow bodied 787. The only thing is that Boeing doesn't seem to yet know that they can build it.Jump to post
Funny that I may have watched the same video as you in YouTube yesterday and thought that it might be a clever concept to.try again. But if was is more like the V22 Osprey it would be far more practical.Jump to post
The 783 can be built at anytime. It is a modern technology jetliner that will have a slightly reduced range at a lower price (airlines love that) so Boeing should approach the airlines and offer it again. The worst that can happen is a "not interested" reply from them, so no harm done to a...Jump to post
Now that you are talking about fleet maintenance and repairs, do you happen to know what UA is going to do with ship 123? That's the 757 that landed rough a few months ago a my local Airport, EWR. DL had one land rough in the Azores not long ago and they flew it back to repair it. Hope 123 doesn't g...Jump to post
Sad that my country's airline instead of getting ready to celebrate its 100th birthday, has to fight for its life. AV's drama has been long and it is ironic that they are in a position to have a successful airline, yet something always goes wrong and they find themselves one step away from failure. ...Jump to post
"FOLLOW YOU" car... LoL! (though I understand the reason why) I read the different posts and in the 2018 one, there's a photo of the dead guy stuffed in the wheel well. the report states that he froze to death. you see the photo and will agree he wasn't properly dressed or ...Jump to post
Walter Varney would be impressed to see that his two airlines are now merged into one. Or like William Boeing may have thought: they have united.Jump to post
UA is not stupid. If they knew they were loosing they wouldn't have even bothered.Jump to post
OMG, AV has hit some turbulence! And Efromovich is out! Oh man, what's next?Jump to post
N37267 was at my local airport last saturday night and it looked splendid! It is a nice refresh of the livery.
I only say too bad there are no 727's on the UA fleet anymore. It would've looked smashing with this livery.
I say they are getting both the A350 & 777x.Jump to post
