Re: Detroit Air Service Discussion Thread - 2019

There is quite a wind storm coming today and I was looking at the flight board to check the status of my flight. I noticed almost all of the cancellations were D gates. Does DL have priority over who gets cancelled?

Re: Detroit Air Service Discussion Thread - 2019

Re: Detroit Air Service Discussion Thread - 2019

Chaos at airport! Luckily it was just opened in the last hour. So many flights have been cancelled or delayed. Just had to reschedule my flight for later. The issue was because of too much ice on runway that could not be removed.

Re: Detroit Air Service Discussion Thread - 2019

I love that last link. Wish I had taken more images inside of the terminal than I did. Always loved the huge North Central DC-9 mural on the wall behind their ticket counter in the Davey Terminal. I hope somebody has a stash of photos somewhere of the place. Even though it was a dump, it had some c...

Re: Detroit Air Service Discussion Thread - 2019

Here are some link that contain some older pictures of DTW, some of the Davey in a few places. Paging compensateme, who I think posted several relics of the past buried somewhere in the 2018 DTW thread. Credit to the various posters who found or sited this stuff in previous posts: Compensateme: Her...

Speaking of old terminals, does anyone have any shots of the Davey Terminal Interior? There's plenty of images online of the Smith Terminal's interior, but I can't seem to find any old ones from the Davey Terminal.

I have tried, I have found a few, but they are not very good.

Re: Detroit Air Service Discussion Thread - 2019

Flying out of DTW this morning, noticed they have started putting up a construction barrier and fencing around the airside of the Smith terminal and the old concourse B. The beginning of the end for the old terminal is getting closer. That's a shame. I have a lot of memories of flying NW DC9/A320/7...

Re: Detroit Air Service Discussion Thread - 2019

Reality is, Midfield is such a large and underutilized terminal that it’s hard to notice even a significant increase in activity. I agree the midfield is underutilized, but I'm curious to know your thoughts. Could you expound a bit more on why you think it is so? Never understood why DL only has 45...

Re: Detroit air service discussion - 2018

The new signs off 94 are really nice and fool proof then the old plain blue white signs.

Re: Detroit air service discussion - 2018

Dont mean to interupt, does anybody have any photos of the old terminal? I was young when I flew there many times and dont remember the terminal that much. Just curious what it looked like.
